We moved to Alaska 11 years ago with my wife and 4 children chasing adventure and found a deep love for fishing. I spent 7 years on a commercial seiner, learning the rhythm of the sea and the thrill of the catch. Five years ago, we bought a tackle shop—great in its own way, but I missed being out on the water. So I bought the Granite Cape to keep the adventure alive. Now I get to share what I love most: being on the water with my family and helping others experience the excitement of reeling in halibut. There's nothing better.

    3/4 Day Trip – Halibut • 4 adults

    Captain Shawn worked hard to get us to locations where there were fish. Tough day for the bigger ones on this day, other boats in the area confirmed, but we kept going. Nibble and a onesy across a couple until we landed at a go-to deep water and landed a bunch. My arms got tired reeling in the fish. Our family got 8 halibut but one small one went back, plus we got one cod. Super fun and would do it again! Thanks Capt Shawn and first mate neice, you were both great to spend time with throughout the day.

    Me and my 3 teenage sons had a great time fishing with Shawn for Halibut this past week. Everything was perfect you couldn’t ask for better weather or captain. Shawn made 4 guys from the east coast feel like seasoned Halibut fishermen. Homer and Shawn did not disappoint.

    Had a great halibut charter with Captain Shawn and his crew on board the Granite Cape on June 11, 2026. Emma, Lilly and Captain Shawn provided us with an excellent experience and led us to catching 10 halibut and 2 cod. Highly recommend him for your future charters!

    We had a great trip! Got our limit of Halibut, added some cod and a king salmon to the mix!! Shawn is a great captain and we had a great time on his boat!! Would definitely recommend Shawn and H2O adventures for your next fishing adventure!!!
