Did the four hour 7am fishing trip with Rafa. He was very personable and is a stand-up guy. Been fishing this lagoon his whole life and knows the waters well. He’s a real pro and expert! He worked tirelessly to catch tarpon — including chumming. We had many many bites but lost a lot of fish. Fortunately, we landed two and had a great time overall. If you’re interested in tarpon fishing near San Juan or Isla Verde, Rafa is the Captain to hire. Would do this trip again in a heartbeat!

Our trip was great! We did a 4 hour 6am charter. Got to catch the sunrise and then a fair bit of Tarpon! 30-40lbs were the largest we caught which was the biggest I’ve ever caught!!

Capt Rafa was very enjoyable to spend a morning with.  He had great knowledge of the locale and tarpon.  He was especially good with my 5yo son. He got him his first tarpon and also let him feed the pelicans on the way back to the marina.  Will certainly look him up when we are back in the area.

Rafa is an experienced, confident, and patient captain who is one with the tarpon.  Go with him for a great time and you won’t regret it!
