I've been passionate about fishing since I was five years old, when my dad gave me my first rod, reel, and tackle box — a moment that sparked a lifelong connection to the water. Growing up, I fished for bass, crappie, and catfish, and that early excitement only grew stronger as I explored new species and waters across the globe, including during my time in the U.S. Navy. After moving to the Pacific Northwest in 1990, I became deeply committed to mastering its diverse fisheries and eventually turned that passion into a full-time career as a charter captain and fishing guide, operating since 2008. What drives me in this industry is more than the thrill of the catch — it's the opportunity to share unforgettable outdoor experiences, help people connect with nature, and witness the pure joy of someone landing their first fish in these incredible waters.

    Great trip with my boys!

    Great day on the water! We had good fishing action all day and Capt. Doug was not only a great captain, but a wealth of fishing knowledge and information. The vessel was clean, organized, and you could really see his experience in the way everything just worked. Everything had its place, everything ran smoothly, and we were able to just enjoy the day and fish. Great experience and would absolutely fish with Capt. Doug again! P.S. We also caught and took home some great-sized salmon! 🎣

    Captain Doug was awesome! He put us on fish right away and made the whole trip a great experience. Knowledgeable, professional, and a lot of fun to fish with. Highly recommend Captain Doug and 365 Charters! We’ll definitely be back!

    Had a great time with Captain Doug! Fish were on the bite early but tailed off. Smooth waters and good time for all level of fishermen. Captain Doug knows what he's doing!

    My son and I were visiting from Adelaide, Australia. We had a brilliant experience with Doug fishing for salmon in the Sound. It was a stunning day. Easily organised, great communication, perfect day and fishing experience! Would book with Captain Doug again when we come back. Highly recommend!

    Great birthday trip for our son

    3 Hour Trip – Flounder Fishing (AM) • 4 adults

    For our son's birthday we wanted something with good action and calm waters. Booked flounder trip and it was just what we wanted. Glass smooth water on the sound and plenty of action. Would definitely recommend this trip to any family wanting a trip to get fish on the boat

Birds = Bait = Salmon!

Found the birds swarming, which in turn, we were are on bait hard and heavy. The resukts were a mixed bag of Coho and Pink salmon. Action is heating up abd August will be on fire for fish catching action in Puget Sound in Seattle!

Beautiful Day - Tough Fishing

Sometimes fishing is tough. It was a beautiful day in Seattle with super nice weather, but the fishing was just plain tough. Everyone on the water was struggling. Between 9 different charter operators and even a couple sport vessels I talk to on the water, we basically threw the kitchen sink at them. I was fortunate that my clients landed both fish that hit our gear.
