This was our first trip for the 9 miles offshore trip. Once we made it to our first fishing spot we got right on some King Mackerel! I started feeling seasick so we headed back towards the shore for calmer waters and then my little boy actually did get seasick. We cut the trip short after that. They were very understanding and super helpful about our situation. We tried to hang in there! Next time, we will be more prepared and take motion sickness meds beforehand and try again! We for sure will be back with these guys! These guys know what they are doing! I was super impressed. I just wish we could have hung with the big dogs a few more hours. As soon as we got back to the beach house my little boy said he was ready to go back out again! Thank you to James and Gibson for your hard work today! Can’t wait to eat our catch!

Can’t James got us on reds and sharks no more then a half hour after leaving the dock. We quickly limited out on reds being as we only had 3 tags. Note to parents, don’t let store clerks tell you a 16 year olds or less don’t need a red tag. They don’t need a license but if you want to keep their red they need a tag! After awhile the bite slowed and we were being constantly harassed by swarms of flies. Capt james recommended we started trolling for mackerel and we agreed. Trolling was new to us and we were able to hook up with a nice mackerel and two jack Cavell which were both new species for us. Unfortunately not long after this the radar indicated that the weather was almost here and we needed to pack it up. This is something that we knew could happen, Shana had told us the night before. Just as we were pulling in the docking area the rain and thunder started. Capt James kept us out as long as he could and timed it perfect. We were mildly disappointed but no one controls the weather. Shana adjusted the trip price to half day and we went home with 3 reds, 2 jacks, a black tip, and 4 gafftops. It was a great trip, the family had fun and the kids will remember it forever. Capt James and his mate Gibson were friendly and quickly got lines back in the water after missed bites or unhooking caught fish. We’re going to see how the year goes and if things go as planned we’ll be back next year.

We had a wonderful day on the water with Oilfield OutKasts. Capt. James worked hard to find fish, and what impressed me the most is that if one technique didn’t work he would try something else. They truly care about catching, not just fishing.
Boat and equipment was in good condition and ready to go from the start of our trip.
Honestly, of the many charters I’ve been on this was one of the best.
We limited out on Reds, caught 14 cats, 3 shark, 3 kings…and a few jack fish. What a day!

Captain Dave and deck hand Nathan were Awsome!

We were on fish early and often, all day.
I filled red rags in no time, straight to trolling for kings and caught limit then to drifting for sharks. They wore me out catching fish with three limits and time to spare.

I would never have known it was Captain Dave’s maiden voyage if he hadn’t told me. And Nathan is a hard working young man we would all be proud to have our own kids work that hard.

I will request them for all future bookings without a doubt.

Deep-sea fishing was a bucket list item for my dear friends. I was very nervous about going, but Captain James made the experience very enjoyable. He is knowledgeable about the fish being caught, how to be successful with catching them and was very helpful when trying to land them. You can tell that all the Captains are close and have great communication. We could hear the excitement in the other captains voices with all of the catches that were happening on all the other boats. We caught so many fish and had such a great time. We began to feel a little sick after being out for an hour. Captain James pick right up on it and brought us in toward the shore so we could get some breeze in our face and get another dose of meclizine down.  We fished near the shore and caught a ton of large red drum. We all began to perk up and feel better and we went back out again looking for red snapper (which we found). We also found a 6-7 foot black tip shark. What a thrill and amazing experience. We definitely will try it again and without a doubt use Oulfield OutKasts again.
