One angler and two neophyte anglers. It was a great day. Getting us to and in the boat (and later off the boat) went seamlessly.
Miguel met us on time on the beach and the crew was waiting and ready to go.
Fishing started slow, but Captain Ronnie and his crew Jose and Ezekiel never stopped working. I understand you don’t always catch and we patiently and happily enjoyed the ride. It picked up…
We hooked, brought to the boat, photographed and released a sailfish and a very large black marlin (10’ 350lbs). I hooked the marlin late and they patiently coached, encouraged and helped bring in that beauty.
These guys were dudes! They made a great day even better. Thanks guys, a trip we will never forget! We highly recommend the company. Great communication throughout the process and again, everyone was on time.

Great crew! Captain Ronnie was kind and did his best to help us find fish. Jose never stopped moving and had as many lines as possible in the water. Unfortunately for my family, no near shore action despite best efforts from our two crew members. (We did see humpback whales and that was wild!) Better choice for fishing likely a 6 or 8 hour trip that includes deep sea fishing. On a positive note, crew incredibly flexible and accommodating. They served good snacks, water and soda and THE best fruit we had in Costa Rica. Crew tried to extend our trip (without charging) to help us catch something. I asked Jose to head in as my kids were hungry for lunch. I’m no expert, but I fish enough to know that some days they just don’t bite. Much credit to the crew for making it a special day regardless. I’d gladly book them again but would head for deeper waters.

Our family of 5 took a morning fishing trip looking for rooster fish. Our captain knew exactly where to go and was very thoughtful host with plenty of shade, snacks and drinks. After several nibbles we hooked two rooster fish at the same time! My boys were thrilled and exhausted after bringing them in, the crew was very helpful in bringing both fish in safely, getting a few photos and then returning them to the ocean. It’s a memory we will always have!

We really enjoyed our off-shore trip today with Sea Star on the 31’ Big Eye. Captain Roland and crew Willam and Jason were attentive and owner Michael had excellent communication when booking. Captain asked what fishing experience we were looking for at the start of the trip and did his best to deliver. Caught a nice Mahi Mahi and also saw whales, dolphins, devil rays & flying fish. Ate tasty ceviche prepared with our catch and lunch. Snacks and beverages were plentiful and available throughout the trip. Overall a relaxing day on the water. Would 100% use this boat & crew again through Sea Star.

We had a great day on the water. Started off with all of us catching a few bonito and we moved onto the rooster fish. Caught a 5’ rooster fish that took about 15 minutes to reel in and another 28’’ rooster fish for our son. It was a great day and the captain/first mate were very friendly. I would recommend this charter to anyone looking to book a trip.
