- Hello, I am Captain Thorny. I have been fishing Lake Champlain for the last 40 years. I have a USCG Master Captains License. My 22ft CHawk 'The CathyJean' is fully insured with a brand new 2025 Yamaha 150 hanging off the transom. My hardtop and cabin provides comfort in diverse weather conditions. I have been running fishing charters for the last 15 years. I run charters from ice out in the spring til she ices up in mid December. My home port is listed as Burlington, but I keep the CathyJean on a trailer, this allows me to adjust trips to seasonal fishing and weather conditions, assuring we have the best day possible on the water. Sharing the great fishing on Champlain with guests is my passion. Familys are always welcome. My favorite trips are with women and children. I run a very large variety of delivery systems with Planer Boards, Downriggers, Leadcore and divers. I look forward to the opportunity to take you fishing! - Techniques
- We primarily troll for Lake Trout and Salmon. On a good day we might get some Steelhead or Brown Trout. Summer and Fall I also offer trips for Walleye and Northern Pike. We generally use a large variety of delivery methods like down riggers, planer boards, leadcore and divers.
