Background
My earliest memories involve Fishing and being Outdoors with my dad and my family. I remember being super excited for the weekends because my dad would love to take me fishing whether it was walking out on the Galveston jetties or later going in our Bay boat I was always excited to be even a little part of the planning, preparation and travel to the boat ramp. Of course there was always a gathering of the bait either by cast net or buying it from the ramp shop. We always felt like if we did not have live shrimp we would not catch anything which of course I found later not to be the case, but my parents instilled in me at a early age, the beauty of the outdoors-freedom of fishing on the Galveston bay. I carry that excitement and energy throughout my life. I remember the day I got my drivers license. I hooked up to the boat and took it to the boat ramp. Later I became a fishing guide and spent nine years even more intensely learning all about Bait fishing and management and what that meant to catch a fish-more accurately to put customers on fish day after day. The experience speaks for itself, but the energy and drive it takes to be a Fishing guide is all about helping others especially kids. I love the unbiased energy and excitement of children on the boat. I love how they’re excited about the live bair in the tank and asking me all kinds of questions that no one else may ask. I look forward to sharing time with you and your family on your fishing adventures.
Techniques
I run fishing bay bait trips in the boat or wade fishing. Also have requests for artificial only in boat or wading but wading is the best for that. Some trips we drift, some we anchor and it depends on the method the weather allows. Also guide coastal duck hunts. My boat is a 2021 Carolina Skiff 25LS so it will hold my max licensed anglers up to 6 but it gets tight onboard for more than 4 unless they are smaller like kids for instance.

Cold flounder adventure
Cold flounder adventure
Feb 1, 2026 Port O'Connor
When this crew first reached out, I tried to nudge them toward another night. The forecast had that look โ€” the kind that makes captains squint at the sky and second-guess their coffee. But these werenโ€™t rookies. Five seasoned anglers, veterans of the chill, showing up with the right gear and the right grit. They stepped onto the boat like theyโ€™d done it a thousand times โ€” easy smiles, steady feet, that quiet confidence you only get from folks who know the water doesnโ€™t hand out favors. And thenโ€ฆ the night surprised us. The wind softened to a gentle 10 mph. The sky cleared its throat and turned gold. Sunset spilled across the water like melted copper. Even the pelicans got playful โ€” you could tell the wildlife clocked the mood and decided to clock in. Now, the truth beneath the glow: flounder reports had been rough. For weeks, guides had been whispering the same word โ€” slow. A recent freeze had taken its toll. Later, weโ€™d see the evidence ourselves: too many dead flounder, victims of that cold snap. Natureโ€™s reminder that she writes the rules. But hope rides every tide, especially when itโ€™s Captain Seth at the helm. They found one live flounder โ€” and made it count. Steel, light, steady hands โ€” gigged clean. And where the flounder thinned out, the black drum showed up to save the dance. The spirits lifted, and the night found its rhythm. So no, it wasnโ€™t a numbers night. It was better. It was laughter in the dark. New friendships forged under a painted sky. A boat ride that felt more like a story than a trip. And those are the ones folks come back for
