- Background
- My name is Captain Andrew Crawford and It has been a dream of mine for the last 10+ years to become a guide and share the experience of fly fishing in the lowcountry. I am Charleston born and raised and have been fishing my home waters for 20+ years now. I find joy in everything outdoors and really appreciate putting redfish in front of others from the back of my skiff. If you book a trip with me, you will learn more about the low country from the bird and wildlife species that call the salt marsh their home all the way to the history of these waters. You’ll get more than a fishing trip, but a knowledgeable captain who is here to build relationships and keep you coming back. My specialties are focused on fly and light tackle fishing for redfish in shin deep water but there are also special trips and opportunities to cast at sheepshead, black drum, bonnet head sharks, jack crevalle, and occasionally tarpon. My primary vessel is an 18 foot east cape lostmen which is comfortable for 1 or 2 anglers but for larger parties, non-fly, harbor cruises, and eco-tours, I will arrange for us to be in a larger boat. Don’t hesitate to reach out to ask any questions you may have about the area or to book a trip! You can reach me here or my cell at **hidden content**. I look forward to pushing you!
- Techniques
- I have been fly fishing for 12+ years now and think it is the most intense and exciting way to catch fish. To me, bait fishing and waiting does not provide a whole lot of joy, I like stalking fish and hunting them where they are actively feeding. Fly fishing allows for a more delicate presentation and smaller baits to peak the interest of even the most picky of fish. I have been 100% fly fishing only on a personal level for over a decade but I also have some nice light tackle inshore setups for those not as confident in chucking a fly.
