On June 2, we headed south from Cabo San Lucas and found action early. At approximately 5 miles offshore, a mahi mahi struck a Mint John Green lure (green and black), resulting in our first fish of the day. While fighting the mahi mahi, we spotted a striped marlin on the surface and immediately pitched a bait in its direction. Before the marlin could reach it, however, a reef shark intercepted the bait and became hooked. After a brief fight, the shark was brought alongside the boat and safely released. Continuing south, we reached approximately 9 miles offshore, where we encountered three striped marlin on the surface. Two of the fish showed interest and charged the baits, with one becoming hooked briefly before throwing the hook and escaping. On the run back toward Cabo, another mahi mahi struck a ballyhoo rigged bait (rigger bait) and was successfully landed, giving us our second fish of the day. โธป Conditions: * Good offshore water conditions * Active surface marlin sightings * Strong mahi mahi activity throughout the trip โธป Summary: A productive offshore day featuring: * 2 mahi mahi landed * 1 reef shark released * Multiple striped marlin sightings and hookups Another exciting Cabo fishing adventure with action from start to finish and plenty of pelagic activity offshore. ???

Epic Multi-Billfish Day โ€“ Marlin, Sailfi
Jun 1, 2026 Cabo San Lucas
On June 1, we headed south from Cabo San Lucas. Upon reaching approximately 8 miles offshore, we encountered an active school of sailfish feeding aggressively on our trolling lures and baits. The action quickly resulted in a successful catch-and-release sailfish. Continuing east, the bite remained strong. We had multiple hookups, including two mahi mahi and another sailfish. We successfully landed both mahi mahi, while the sailfish managed to escape. As we continued along the same track, we hooked two additional sailfish, but both threw the hooks during the fight. The action continued offshore when we hooked and landed a striped marlin, a trophy fish worthy of preservation. On the run back toward Cabo, approximately 3 miles off Cabeza de Ballena, the day reached another level when we encountered a group of marlin and experienced an incredible triple marlin hookup. On May 29, we headed south from Cabo San Lucas, reaching approximately 4 miles offshore before turning west and running parallel to the coastline. While fishing in front of the Solmar area, a mahi mahi struck a ballyhoo bait, resulting in our first and only landed fish of the day. Continuing on a 270ยฐ heading, we hooked another mahi mahi on a โ€œpetroleroโ€ lure, but the fish came off just before reaching the leader. Upon reaching the Lighthouse area, we turned south again and worked the 5-mile line parallel to shore. Along this stretch, all the way to the Fiesta Americana area, we encountered approximately five striped marlin on the surface. Despite presenting live bait, trolling lures, and multiple approaches, the marlin remained highly selective and refused to commit. On the return run, we worked our way back toward Cabo, finishing the trip approximately 2 miles offshore before heading into the marina. โธป Conditions: * Good water conditions along the Pacific side * Multiple marlin sightings throughout the day * Selective feeding behavior from billfish โธป Summary: A technical offshore day featuring: * 1 mahi mahi landed * 1 mahi mahi lost near the boat * Approximately 5 striped marlin sighted A day filled with opportunities, marlin activity, and steady action along Caboโ€™s Pacific coastline. ??

On May 28, we headed south and began working the 3-mile line parallel to the coast, an area that has been producing consistent action in recent days. While trolling off Chileno Bay, a striped marlin aggressively struck one of our favorite โ€œpetroleroโ€ lures and stayed hooked. After an exciting fight, we successfully brought the fish to the boat, making it the highlight of the day. During the run back toward Cabo San Lucas, we had one more opportunity when a wahoo attacked a ballyhoo bait. The fish made a powerful strike, cut the bait, and escaped before we could come tight. โธป Conditions: * Productive coastal waters along the 3-mile line * Good trolling conditions throughout the trip * Active billfish presence near Chileno โธป Summary: A successful offshore trip featuring: * 1 striped marlin landed * 1 wahoo strike lost on ballyhoo Another exciting day in Cabo waters, highlighted by a quality striped marlin and a close encounter with a fast-moving wahoo. ??

On May 27, we headed out on a 5-hour offshore trip toward the 95 spot. While working the area along the way, we found solid mahi mahi action and successfully landed 4 mahi mahi throughout the trip. During the run back toward Cabo San Lucas, we had one final aggressive strike when a wahoo hit the trolling spread. The fish struck hard enough to completely rip away one of our trolling lures before escaping. โธป Conditions: * Active mahi mahi bite offshore * Good trolling conditions throughout the trip * Strong predator activity on the return run โธป Summary: A productive short offshore trip featuring: * 4 mahi mahi landed * 1 aggressive wahoo strike * Lost trolling lure to the wahoo attack Another exciting day in Cabo waters with steady mahi action and fast-paced offshore fishing.

On the afternoon Golden Hour trip of May 27, we headed along the Pacific coastline. Just off Pedregal, moments after deploying the baits, a jack crevalle aggressively struck and was successfully landed before being released in healthy condition. After releasing the fish, we set our course toward the 95 Spot. Along the way, we encountered approximately six different schools of striped marlin, but despite presenting live bait and trolling lures, none of the fish committed. Before even reaching the 95, we found so much marlin activity that we decided to turn back and work the area closer to shore. Running the 3 to 4-mile line, we observed another three marlin jumping and three more cruising on the surface. Once again, despite multiple presentations, the fish remained highly selective and refused to bite. Although the catch count was low, the amount of billfish activity was remarkable and provided an exciting afternoon on the water. โธป Conditions: * Excellent Golden Hour conditions * Heavy striped marlin presence throughout the area * Active surface behavior with highly selective fish โธป Summary: An action-packed afternoon featuring: * 1 jack crevalle landed and released * Approximately 12 striped marlin sighted * Multiple schools, jumpers, and surface cruisers A true marlin-filled Golden Hour trip, showcasing the incredible amount of life currently moving through Caboโ€™s Pacific waters and proving why the late-afternoon bite can be one of the most exciting times to be offshore. ???
