We had an unforgettable fishing trip with Manuel and Kevin on Black Marlin Sportfishing in Cabo! These guys were absolute pros—super helpful, friendly, and knew exactly what they were doing. We landed 6 striped marlin in one day, which is something I’ll be bragging about for a long time!

The only regret I have is not being able to leave them a bigger tip—they truly deserved more. Unfortunately, my taxi driver to the marina charged me $50 for a 4-mile ride (ridiculous!), and I didn’t have a dime left in my pocket. Still, I hope this review helps make up for it a bit.

If you’re heading to Cabo and want to go fishing, ask for Manuel and Kevin. I’m already looking forward to the next trip with them!

The water had been colder than normal in Cabo and we knew it. We came down specifically to try and catch a striped marlin and roosterfish. We booked 3 trips with 3 different companies. We caught our roosterfish the day before, so we wanted to target the marlin on this trip. The boat is very nice and the equipment is very good. Captain and mate were very friendly. They had binoculars out were searching all over for marlin. We spotted several and presented live bait to them, but they just wouldn’t bite. That’s fishing. We enjoyed the trip and would go with them again. The only concern I had was in an 8 hour trip, we used the same lures for 5.5 hours and one pole had the same dead bait on it for the entire 8 hours. I have no idea how to fish for marlin, which is why we used guides. However, in my opinion, I would have thought we would have tried different lures sooner and switched out the bait as well.

We went out as a group of couples with no real experience. The crew was very helpful and knowledgeable. We went to try and catch some striped marlin, and though we saw a couple, it just wasn’t the day. Anytime we saw some, though, the crew jumped into action and really tried everything to get the marlin to bite.
Was much better than the last crew we had booked with, here in Cabo. Asked what our goals were and made a plan ahead of time, to try and reach those goals.
Will definitely keep this contact info and try again next season.
We did catch lots of fish, just no marlin….. this time.

This is our second trip on black marlin in january.  Last year, we had 4 marlin, trophy class ...hard to top.  This year was different.  As a fisherman on the guld coast, there are good days and less productive ones.  This year was less productive than 4 marlin.  We had two strike with one release.  No matter how hard you work, sometimes it doesn’t happen.  This is one of those days.  So here’s the review.
Boat:  very clean, very safe.
Crew:  very courteous, friendly and knowledgeable. They kept us abreast of what they were doing, what was happening, anf what we wanted.
One of the advantages of marlin fishing in january is that uts also a whale watching trip.  We saw several sightings and 2 full breaches.
Overall.  Yes I will book them again next year.  Sometimes fish short strike for whatever reason or are not as aggressive due to moons, tides or other things I have no clue to, but I am confident in what I have seen of this crew.

Had a great 5 hour fishing trip with Captain Manuel and First Mate Kevin.  Kevin was the main contact throughout the day and kept us informed and taken care of.  We discussed expectations before heading out and they worked really hard to make it work out great.  We had a marlin bite within first hour but unfortunately spit the hook out.  Was incredible.  After that they kept working to keep us busy with what was biting. We had a great time and definitely can’t wait to do it again.
Couple tips:
You will have to get your fishing license(s) at the dock.  It is about $21 a person and advisable to pay in cash.
There is also live bait and ice to buy as you head out which was $40, again cash.
Lastly, to settle balance would recommend cash.  There was an issue with the credit card processing and then atms not having cash to withdraw.
These are just helpful tips, and would be expected for most charters.
