Catch your next trophy fish with Black Marlin Sportfishing! Let Captain Manuel and his crew be your guides on your next trip, as they have more than 20 years of experience in the business. As fishing is a family tradition and something he does every day, you can be sure you’re in the right hands.
Capt. Manuel is proud to welcome you on his newly rebuilt 31’ Bertram. Fishing on this comfortable, sportfishing boat has everything you need for a great day on the water. This boat has a big ice chest for all your drinks, two fighting chairs, a restroom, a bathroom, and an eating table. There’s a big canopy to keep you away from sun on a hot day and plenty of room inside, to lay down on longer trips.
The boat easily accommodates up to 4 guests, so bring your group, even if some of them are not fishing enthusiasts.
When it comes to fish you’ll target for the day, only the most exciting species are selected – Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Tuna, Roosterfish, and Sailfish. How to get them? Well, you need a bit of muscle strength and quality fishing equipment. The latter is covered by the crew – they have light, medium, and heavy tackle on the boat. With this Shimano and Penn tackle, you can even fight a 500-pound fish!
You only need to bring your sunscreen and sunglasses. And don’t forget to charge your phone and take amazing photos – there’s going to be lots of them!
Black Marlin Sportfishing is your ticket to an unforgettable day on the water. Just choose when you’re coming!

First time to Cabo. Been skunked for Marlin everywhere else in the north western hemisphere. Had to try Cabo as its monikered the 'marlin fishing capital of the world'. Traveled solo. Did my research on Fishing Booker. Luck and destiny brought me to the Black Marlin. What a great crew. I did not get Manuel Sr. but I got Manuel Jr. and Kevin. If Jr. Is like his father, his father must also be an awesome dude. What a great person Manuel Jr. is. Kevin was also fantastic and the finder of fish. Well we trolled all morning and got one small wahoo bite that took the bait. I was still basking in the beauty of Cabo on the comfortable boat. I am used to being skunked and I had Thursday also booked so I was about to concede and chalk it up as a nice boat ride. The lines were about to be pulled in and the last bait thrown overboard. Well Kevin and Manuel did not give up. 7.5 hours into the trip the magic happened. Boom! Marlin on! 45 minutes later my first one landed! What a trip! Catch of a lifetime! That's fishing! Thanks to the amazingly friendly and knowledgeable crew! Hope to see you next year!

Since my objective was achieved 2 days earlier in landing my first marlin on same boat and crew, it was time to catch some dinner. Besides my arms were dead from the marlin fight and did not want the stress of searching for another marlin for a full day. So we turned our attention to the tuna that were biting over the last week not too far from the marina. Got a few skipjacks and nailed 4 yellowfin tuna. Perfect. Beautiful day, not a lot of wind and calm Pacific ride. Crew were fantastic just like they were the past trip. Manuel Jr. even gave me his great recipe for 'spicy tuna'. Looking forward to the Black Marlin next year!

Had an unforgettable trip on The Black Marlin. Went out in July for an 8 hour trip. Communication was great before the trip and we were set for a 6:00am launch. You can buy fishing licenses there just opposite of the dock entrance. Day licenses were US$20/person. Kevin met us at the dock entrance and took us down to The Black Marlin where we met Captain Manuel. We launched soon after boarding and had an opportunity to get some beverages/snacks at the Marina market which is on the way out of the marina. We also stopped to buy some live bait. For an 8 hour trip they recommended about US$40 worth of bait and ice so keep that in mind when figuring out how much extra to bring with you on the boat. Kevin was great in getting all the gear ready and was always working hard. The captain found a great spot where we caught 5 yellowfin tuna within 3 hours of our trip. We had a little dry spell for a couple hours but then hit a marlin that got away. Soon after we got another hit on a marlin and it was game on! Caught a blue marlin. After that, we hooked a striped marlin but that one eventually got away. Once back at the marina, there is a guy that can filet your fish for you. For the tuna, they charged US$7/fish. They will put them in plastic bags. I recommend bringing your own ziplock bags for them to use. I had my own soft case cooler which I used to carry the tuna back to the hotel to freeze and eventually back to the US as check-in luggage. An incredible and unforgettable day of fishing and would love to use The Black Marlin again.

Manuel and Jesus were welcoming, great communication and worked hard to catch fish. It was very rough waters but they kept at it. Slow start with 2 yellowtail tuna, but about halfway through the 8 hours they located a pod of dolphins and tuna travels with dolphins... So within two hours we hit our limit of 10 tuna for the two of us. At one point we had 3 on at once, so much fun!!!! The boat was solid in rough seas. Can't beat an ol' Bertram. One thing nobody mentions is what happens with the fish once your done. One of the dock folks comes and takes it back to filet what u want and will pack and freeze it as well... And deliver to ur hotel for travel. We bought the cooler from them as well. Yes, there is a charge for it... But it is not unreasonable and super convenient. (Assuming the gate agent doesn't give us grief at the airport). And the booking process was perfect as well. Total experience was amazing. Will do it again.

Fishing with Manuel and Jesus was simple, efficient, and a great experience. Jesus and the captain worked hard to find marlin. Jesus ended up spotting a striped marlin with binoculars, and we proceeded to sight cast with live bait. Luckily, the marlin took it, and we got hooked up. We fought for about 30-40 minutes while the captain maneuvered the boat. They are truly experts at what they do. Just be prepared for additional sales questions, which are not mandatory. Capital Manuel has a great business here. They are very professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and put together. I would definitely trust them again for future trips.
