- Hello, my name is Alberto Méndez and I will be happy to be your captain on your fishing trip. Whether you are traveling with family, children, friends or alone, I offer a pleasant and safe fishing experience. I am a local captain with experience and knowledge of the main fishing areas, focused on providing a safe, comfortable and productive service. You will fish aboard La Pola, a 24-foot American fishing boat designed for sport fishing. It is a stable, versatile and safe boat, with reinforced construction that includes injected urethane foam throughout the hull for greater buoyancy and confidence at sea. Depending on the season and conditions, we may target roosterfish, jacks, snapper, mahi-mahi (dorado) and wahoo. You may bring your own fishing equipment if you wish. I work with anglers of all levels, from beginners to experienced fishermen. Safety is always the main priority and my goal is for you to enjoy a great fishing experience and take home great memories from the trip

- I am Alberto Méndez, a native boat captain from Playas del Coco, Costa Rica, with extensive experience in both commercial and sport fishing. I have over 12 years of experience in sport fishing and deep local knowledge of the Pacific waters of Costa Rica. I know the best fishing grounds in the area, from offshore structures to productive inshore spots, and I understand how fish behavior changes throughout the seasons. This allows me to consistently position clients in the right place at the right time. I specialize in multiple techniques, including anchored bottom fishing with natural bait, as well as live and dead bait fishing for species such as roosterfish, snapper, and tuna. I also have experience in mid-depth fishing using weighted setups to keep bait and lures at the correct depth. My strongest passion is surface fishing, targeting mahi-mahi, yellowfin tuna, wahoo, and mackerel using artificial lures and active casting, especially when fish are schooling. My approach is simple: read the water, understand the season, and apply the right technique at the right moment to maximize every fishing
