Background
Hi my name is Stephen – a born and bred Caymanian. I come from a long line of ocean lovers and most of my family have made a living from the sea in one way or another. From a very young age l began to see the same love for the ocean developing in me just as it had in my grandfather and his sons over the years. I took every opportunity I could to venture out on the water with them, and that is where I felt most at home. Today this passion has proven to be my "first love." Being on the ocean and reeling in the big ones just makes my day, so it is only fitting that when I can put my guests on the fish, it makes me equally as happy – and I know they are, because I can see it in their smiles every time.
Techniques
Fishing is my passion, it doesn't matter whether it's inshore or offshore it's all good to me. When inshore I do a lot of slow trolling early in the morning mainly for Snapper, Barracuda, Grouper, Jacks, etc. And if the slow troll isn't cutting it I'll switch things up and fish off the bottom in a few of my secret spots. Weather permitting I'll also fish for Trigger Fish on the outside of the reef in the deeper water. Whatever style has the best action that day is what I stick to. When Deep Sea fishing I like to troll the drop off early in the morning with a downrigger and wire line for Wahoo and few surface lines for Blackfin Tuna, mahi mahi or even a Blue Marlin. Throughout the day I'll venture a bit further offshore specifically targeting Blue Marlin or searching for birds. When on a full day Deep Sea fishing trip the 12 Mile Bank is where I like to hang out (weather permitting) where I like to drift fish (Chunk) for Yellow fin Tuna or troll for Wahoo and Mahi.
