Our trip was by far worth it! Alec is a great captain, answering any questions we threw his way. The fish we caught and the views from the boat made the trip one to remember!

	Average highs of 40 degrees and 15 inches of rain and snow put many anglers off in January. There are some big King Salmon if you're willing to tough it out, though.
</div>

	Halibut come into season in February, if you can find a boat to get to them. Otherwise you can head to the rivers for a variety of fly fishing favorites.</p>


<p>
	There is a consistent bite of Dolly Varden, King Salmon, Rockfish, Halibut, and Lingcod in March, meaning plenty of big battles and some tasty fish to take home for dinner.</p>


<p>
	The main charter season still hasn't started, but that just means even more water for you to enjoy. Target Halibut, King Salmon, Rockfish, and the area's other permanent residents.</p>


<p>
	The Ketchikan King Salmon Derby has been kicking off the summer fishing season for over 70 years, and still draws competitive anglers to town for three weekends of great fishing.</p>


<p>
	The Ketchikan King Salmon Derby is still going strong in June, giving you the chance to be crowned King of Kings and scoop up some great prizes alongside the huge fish.</p>

	Every species of Salmon is on fire in July. Kings tail off towards the end of the month, but if you're after an IGFA Salmon Fantasy Slam, this is one of the best times and places to try.</div>

	The Blueberry Arts Festival has been running for over 40 years, bringing together local artists, craftsmen, and fun-lovers of all ages. If you're in town in August, you have to check it out!

	September is one of the best months for Silver Salmon in Ketchikan, and there are still plenty of Kings around, too. It's also the tail end of Halibut high season, making it a great time to visit.</div>

	Most of the summer's Salmon have made their long journey upriver by October. Silver Salmon are the exception, and can still be caught this time of year, as can the resident Kings.</div>


<div>
	Ketchikan's charter season starts to shut down in November, but you can still find a few boats willing to take you out in search of Halibut, Rockfish, Lingcod, and King Salmon.</div>

	Can't decide what to cook this Christmas? How about a nice, fresh Salmon? These are some of the tastiest, most expensive fish around, and are more than big enough to feed the family.</div>
