Alfonso and Palo are hands down the best people to book a fishing trip with in Playa del Carmen. This experience was the absolute highlight of our entire trip. They were both incredible hosts and went above and beyond to cater to everything we wanted. We booked a six-hour trip and, although the first few hours were slow with no catches, Alfonso took us to a beautiful snorkeling spot where Palo showed us an amazing variety of marine life. We had previously done a snorkeling tour in Puerto Morelos, but this experience from Alfonso’s boat was on a completely different level. On the way back, our luck finally turned and we caught a huge king mackerel, which truly made the day unforgettable. Once back on land, Alfonso cleaned the fish and we enjoyed an incredible feast together. The boat is well equipped, and both of them are genuinely wonderful people. If you’re considering a fishing or snorkeling trip in Playa de Carmen, look no further — Alfonso and Palo are the ones to book with.

As this was our first time out and my son’s 16th, thought I’d treat him to this. Unfortunately the captains boat broke down the night before but was able to set us up with another. Alfonso was a very gracious host and Gustavo (other captain) was great. Leo, first mate was super knowledgeable. Ocean was a bit on the choppy side for my sons liking but once the fish started biting he forgot all about it. Cooked up the days catch at the Asi Restaurant which everyone loved and the other food we ordered was fantastic. Overall, cray awesome time, loved every minute. Will do it again next year. !! 🤙

Had a great day out on the boat. Alfonso and his first mate worked really hard to get us on the fish. A storm had recently come through and there was a ton of seaweed in the water. You couldn’t get away from it.  The crew was constantly pulling the bait in to remove the seaweed. Tons of work for those guys. I’ve been on many other trips and these guys knew exactly what they were doing. We had what we believe was an amberjack or large snapper hooked and before I could get it to the surface, a shark came through and spooled us. It ended up being a slow day with only one fish and those guys worked hard for it. When we got back to shore, the rest of the boats had similar luck. 10/10 would fish with these guys again. Thank you for all of your hard work Alfonso!

I took my family (wife, son 8yr, daughter 12yr) out for a morning with Captain Alfonso and his crew and we couldn’t have had a better experience. They were so accommodating. We started trolling and it was a little slow so Captain Alfonso let us do some jigging to keep the kids engaged and we caught some grouper fish for lunch. He allowed us to stay out extra hours that weren’t originally booked and took us snorkeling. Saw so many fish, rays, and turtles. The highlight of the day came when we were trolling our way in and hooked a huge barricuda! My son reeled it in and he couldn’t have been happier. Got back the beach and they cooked the fish up for us right there. Captain Alfonso and crew handled everything from start to finish and we had an A+ experience! Muy excellente!

My trip with Captain Alfonso Arcos and crew member, Polo, was fantastic! We hooked into a BIG Amberjack to start the trip, but lost it to a bull shark, cutting my line as I was getting ready to bring it in!!! We trolled throughout the day to try and catch barracuda or other fish that may be hungry, but they weren’t hungry :-(  We then tried for reef fishing with bait and had a lot of success! I caught over 30 fish which included trigger fish, various types of snapper, abd species of Jack Crevalle!!! So, I caught my slam of over 4 different types of fish, which I am grateful for! Afterwards,  my fish was taken to Asi restaurant.  They cooked 3 of my fish and the rest was given to the “familia” there, which fed the friends and family there. They cooked the rest of my fish for all of them to enjoy :-) They also bought and cooked lobster for me to enjoy, to say thanks for the fish I caught :-)
Only down side was, I wished I would have caught bigger fish, like Amberjack or Grouper. It felt like we didn’t have enough sardines and jigs to fish for the bigger fish. I wish I would have brought my own spoons to fish wish. Anyways, Captain Alfonso was very accommodating and friendly. He provided drinks and snacks for my trip! They tried hard to get me on the bigger fish, but it was a slow day for the bigger fish. I would definitely go with Captain Alfonso again!!
