Lovely boat trip out to sea but unfortunately no fish to catch and the boys were very disappointed to catch nothing.

We are from the USA visiting Thailand for the first time. We had a small group of 3 (this boat fishes up to 7) - and it we had the BEST time! The crew was very accommodating, lunch was great, and the fishing was incredible. We managed to land a handful of various species of tuna using different methods.

Make sure if you’re English speaking (like us) - that you communicate with Andrey (best owner/host/captain in Chalong) prior to boarding to make sure you iron out the details for your trip.

The captain Andrey was not on the vessel. Tuna Go was selected because it was indicated English was spoken. The two Thai gentlemen were nice folk but did not speak English very well. It was hoped that we could have conversations during the 8 hrs but that was not possible. There were some issues with monies but in both cases it was resolved.
We caught about 80 silver tuna and I had inquired what to do with them. No answer was provided. One Thai indicated in a text that I was to provide a 50 USD tip to both of them which I was willing to do. The question about the fish was still open. I felt they were going to sell the fish in addition to my tip and felt I was getting hosed. I inquired about that after they took a pic of the catch. I was told they got 32 Thai BHAT a kg. Something did not feel right and told them they may sell OUR catch but I would not provide a tip as requested. There was a man at the dock when we returned that was buying the catch.we did take 4 tuna to give some poor hotel staff.
Overall the trip was fine. The lunch was good and the snorkeling was fun.
We were never notified that Caption Andrey was NOT going to be on this trip and would have selected a different vessel. It is not known why and I feel I was mislead.

It was great day of fishing with family. Must repeat it next time. TunaGo chose good day and path. We had got many emotions.
