Wow! What an adventure! We first were greeted by the captain and the deckhand on the dock. Very helpful with loading up. I myself have trouble getting in and out of boats but they helped me get on the boat no problem. We lacked the coolers , they had cold waters for us! The boat is much bigger than I expected , it didn’t have a lot of seating but they brought us these bean bags that were so comfortable my sons fell asleep on the ride out. We stopped and got bait which was neat to see. We saw the dolphins and the crew was quick to point out and identify all the species of fish that were around the boat. We did some “trolling” caught a few king mackerel which fought really well. Next they took us on a 10 min boat ride the boat was fast and we booked it due to that. They sold us on the fact we got more fishing time.. and we did. We started catching big trigger fish , red snapper and we caught a small grouper. A school of mahi mahi came around and we caught 7 of those. Wow! My little son wanted to catch a shark and the crew made that look easy before handing it to my son . He struggled pulling it in but it was a big shark! We caught so many fish, saw awesome nature , the weather was enough the best at first but at the end of the day it turned out very nice. We booked another trip for the fall and we can’t wait! Excellent trip all around the Captain and crew are great and we very much so enjoyed ourselves!!

Captain Trey Baker was amazing!! The energy and enthusiasm he brought when he picked us up at the dock I just knew we would catch something that day. We have limited experience fishing and he coached us through the entire process. He is a pro. Great trip for beginners. He did exactly what he said he would do..he put us on some sharks and before the end of our tour not only did he have my 8yr old daughter catching sharks by herself but she was also holding them!! If we’re ever near pensacola again we’ll be looking this guy up!!

Honestly I don’t even know where to start…

I got a text a week ahead of the trip from the Captian, Trey Baker. He was asking if it would be okay if he called me to iron out the details of the trip, asking me exactly what I wanted to do and what I wanted to catch. He had lots of great info about what they they been seeing on other trips and what was in season, creel limits, everything. It was from that minute I knew it was going to be a great trip. We boarded the boat in the early afternoon. It was in the water ready to go. It was all cleaned up and the guys were so welcoming. I was nervous about bringing my son (age 6) on the trip, all my worries were gone as soon as I met them. We had an amazing day. It was panoramic views all the way around. We caught some live bait and they made sure to let my son be a part of it all. I didn’t even say anything, they just took it upon themselves to make sure he was having fun, no matter what. When we were headed to the fishing spots the dolphins put on a show for us, jumping, diving, splashing. I would have paid good money just for that, and the trip had just started! When we got to the first spot we were on the fish within seconds. We caught fish.. after fish.. after fish. My arms were absolutely exhausted.. after the FIRST spot. We went on for several hours and several more spots, catching more species than I could remember. My son wanted to catch a shark, he told me about a thousand times he wanted to catch a shark for two weeks leading up to the trip, and catch a shark he did! A 5 ft bull shark fit the bill nicely! I could go on for hours and tell you exactly what we experienced, in all honesty though, you should just book with Southbound and experience it yourself, I know I’ll be back on their boat next year, making even more memories with my family.

(P.S. I’m just a regular guy from Missouri, I hadn’t met these guys until today. What I’m writing here is 100% real. I’m writing it because I know these guys will make your day amazing and I know how hard it is to pick who you want to fish with)

Only reason I didn’t give a 5 star review all the way around was because I booked the trip 4.5 months in advance and the day before the captain called and said my booking price was wrong and I paid for a full day. He said the new booking was $1400 plus gas. But the original trip was $1850 flat. So the over all trip cost me $2300 (without tip for the mate) which is very high. He should have honored the original price. But we had a great time on a very nice boat with a great crew. I would do it again but only at a flat rate.

The weather was not good but we made the most of it and had a blast with Capt Trey and mate. We caught a nice variety of fish and the boat had a lot of room. The crew was entertaining and fun . Will book again. Thank you Southbound
