Spring break is upon us and the fishing is getting better each day! The redfish have been loving this warmer water inshore. Offshore: the Spanish mackerel have shown up in full force nearshore and in the Destin harbor. The kings won’t be far behind! A Mahi Mahi was even caught off a local pier this week! Offshore is only going to continue to get better in the coming weeks and I look forward to taking advantage of it. In the surf along 30A the pompano run has officially begun I do believe. Good numbers of pompano being caught along with some bull reds and nice black drums this time of year. The beaches along 30A are coming to life with the Silver Kings! We have had good luck finding big schools of tarpon in the late mornings after wranglin with snapper and grouper early on. Inshore bite is steady with trout on the flats while the sun is coming up and reds are chewing along structure and grass flats througout the bay. Won’t be long before the Jack Crevalles and bull reds invade the bay chasing bait. Don’t miss out on some of the best fishing this area has to offer this time of year!
