  Exactly What an Offshore Charter Should Be!

  We did a 10-hour trip with Screwloose Fishing Charters and Captain James Baker, and it was an absolutely fantastic day from start to finish. If you’re looking for a serious offshore fishing trip, I highly recommend these guys. We caught just about everything you could ask for Goliath grouper, red snapper, lane snapper, mangrove snapper, red grouper, gag grouper, triggerfish, amberjack, and several sharks. We limited out on red grouper, red snapper, and triggerfish, and everything we were putting in the boat was BIG. It was one of those days where you never knew what was going to be on the other end of the line. James was extremely knowledgeable and knew exactly what he was doing, and his mate was just as good. They worked hard the entire trip, kept us on fish, and were always right there to help with whatever we needed. All of the rods, reels, tackle, and equipment were in great shape, and you could tell these guys take a lot of pride in what they do. The boat was also extremely comfortable, especially for a 10-hour trip. Having the beanbag chairs for the long ride offshore and back made a HUGE difference and honestly made the ride part of the experience instead of something you just had to get through. Overall, we had an absolute blast. Great boat, great equipment, great crew, and most importantly, they put us on a ton of quality fish. I wouldn’t hesitate to book another trip with Captain James and Screwloose Fishing Charters. If you want to spend a full day offshore catching big fish with guys who know what they’re doing, these are the guys to call. 10/10 experience. We’ll definitely be back!

  Went out with a group of friends on Screw loose fishing charters with Captain James Barker. As soon as we pulled up to the first spot, we drop our lines in the water and it didn't take long for me to get my first bite bringing up a solid 28 inch gag grouper, which is my biggest gag grouper to this day. After that, we started using live shrimn on the hattom catchina nlenty of han fish and finished our limit in an hour. Then Captain James took us to a wreck where we got to test our strength against amberjack. By the end of the day, we had plenty of fish To bring home to our families and we all had a blast. I would highly recommend going offshore on screw loose fishing charters, and I will be booking another trip soon.

  Full day trip to the middle grounds

  This is my second trip out with Captain James and my buddy Stephan‘s first trip. It did not disappoint. We took a ride out to the middle grounds and every spot we hit was just loaded with red grouper, gag, grouper, American red snapper and tons of amberjack everywhere. We got to see bottlenose dolphins also chasing flying fish and some giant sea turtles. You never know what you’re going to catch out on the middle grounds and it did not disappoint. Captain James‘s boat is filled with top-notch gear and is a very attentive captain. The 31 foot Grady rides amazing in those rougher waters offshore. I highly recommend screw loose charters for your offshore adventure adventures!

  I had a great experience with James and his fishing charter! He’s a great guy who truly cares about making sure everyone has a good time. What really stands out is how patient and welcoming he is with kids — he makes the trip fun and memorable for the whole family. He’s knowledgeable, works hard to put you on fish, and offers a great experience without charging a fortune. If you’re looking for a fun, affordable fishing trip with someone who genuinely cares about his customers, I highly recommend giving James a try!

  Can’t recommend captain james more! He knows his stuff, knows where the fish are most importantly and he is a great guy! Fun chill vibes on the boat makes it impossible to not have a good time! Limited out on grouper for the boat in a hour and caught a bunch of other fish as well! Quality gear and nice comfortable boat to get you way offshore! If you are looking for a good captain that will get you hooked up on the fish, then James is your guy!
