Just a great time overall.  in addition to catching fish we saw a whale, seals, and dolphins.  My 81 year old mom caught the most fish.  highly recommend Capt. Drew!

	Don't let the cold weather put you off visiting Portland in January. Ice fishers take Burbot, Pike, and Trout on Lake Sebago while hardy saltwater anglers go after Pollock, Haddock, Cusk, and more!&nbsp;</div>

	Get ready for some big fish and great fun in the annual Sebago Derby ice fishing tournament. With huge Pike, ferocious Trout, and plenty of friendly competition, it's not an event to miss!</p>

	This is your last chance to get out on the ice and on warm years you can even fish open water in March. In the sea, groundfishing is getting better as the charter fleet slowly starts to hit the water.</div>

<p>
	Open water fishing season starts in Portland's local rivers and streams, with a variety of Trouts and Basses to target. The saltwater bite is getting better, too, with good catches of Mackerel and Flounder.</p>


<p>
	Salmon put up a real fight as they make their river runs. Halibut, Pollock, and various other bottom fish are also biting hard, and Mackerel hit the area in the thousands. Charter season has begun!</p>


<p>
	June is one big celebration of Portland's maritime history, with the Schoonerfest Regatta and Old Port Festival. What better time to take to the high seas in search of Sharks and Tuna?</p>


<p>
	It's peak big game season, with huge Sharks and Tunas putting tackle to the test offshore. Spend the day fighting sea monsters then relax at Portland's Summer Session Beer Festival.</p>


<p>
	Striped Bass and Bluefish are biting hard in the bay while Bluefin and Sharks demolish baits offshore. Cod season is open, but it won't last long, so climb aboard while you have the chance!</p>


<p>
	It's your last chance to fish Portland's rivers and streams. Bait is banned for most species, so why not try the fly fishing Portland is so good at? Otherwise, head offshore to catch Cod before the season closes.</p>


<p>
	Visit the Harvest on the Harbor food and drinks festival or reel in your very own feast of Bonito, Pollock, Trout, Crappie, and more. Whatever you fancy, you can find it fishing out of Portland in October.</p>


<p>
	Can't face another turkey? Why not spend the day fishing and enjoy some delicious Pollock or Burbot instead? This is also a great time to set traps for various Crabs. You won't go hungry, that's for sure.</p>


<p>
	Take a drive up the bay and see Freeport light up in the annual Sparkle Weekend. If you want to get some winter action in, you can often ice fish for Pike, Trout, Burbot, and more this time of year.</p>
