Looking to catch some fish in Portland? Look no further than Swell Time: Maine Saltwater Fishing! Your guide for the day is Captain Drew, bringing aboard their professional experience.
These waters are home to Striped Bass, Atlantic Mackerel, Cod, Pollock, Haddock, Bluefin Tuna, Bluefish, Thresher Shark, Blue Shark, and more, depending on the time of year.
For these species, you're likely to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle. For the more adventurous among you, there's bowfishing.
Families making of a day of it will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Customers are encouraged to bring snacks – luckily, Capt. Drew will have some on board!
Your boat for the day is a 33' Center console with capacity for 6 passengers. It comes with all the essentials. There's a toilet on board for your convenience.
Capt. Drew will provide rods and reels for you, as well as lures. Live bait is available, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.
A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. Mates often work for tips and it's customary to offer them a 10–20% tip.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so you can drive right over and come aboard without any hassle! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. If you don't know what to expect, ask the captain.
Don't forget to bring sunglasses, sunscreen (non-spray), and bottled water. Drinks will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be some light snacks available on board.
Give yourself something to look forward to and book a trip with Swell Time: Maine Saltwater Fishing!
