Growing up in the Tampa Bay area, I have always been around or on the water. Inshore and Tarpon fishing are my true passion and I love every minute while I'm out on the water. I got my captain's license in 2017 and helped mate and run a larger boat for offshore fishing trips and always knew I wanted to guide people to their next trophy catch inshore.

4 Hour Fishing Trip • 4 adultsWe all caught Red fish and Spotted Sea Trout. What a great day. The first stop we didn’t do any catching. Only fishing but was still a good time. We didn’t stay long and captain Evan’s moved us. Within 10 minutes one of us hit a Spotted Sea Trout then another and another. We hit on Red fish And Sea Trout for a couple hours. I had to take a break. We had a great time and we couldn’t stop laughing at the puns and jokes. It was a lot of fun. I would recommend Captain Evan’s to everyone. I certainly am coming back.

4 Hour Fishing Trip • 2 adultsMy husband and I had a great time with Captain Evan! He got us on some great fish, took us to plenty of spots, and was always on top of making sure our hooks were always baited. At the end of the trip he cleaned our catches for us as well and put it in a freezer bag for us to take back. He was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We will definitely book again the next time we are in the area!

4 Hour Fishing Trip - 1:00 PM • 3 adultsThis was a three generation group - me my son-in-law and my 15yo grandson. Captain Evan was very attentive and kept supplying fresh live bait on our lines. We all caught some fish but the highlight was the shark. We were doing catch and release so was glad Captain dealt with removal of the hook for that guy. We had a great experience and recommend you check him out.

5 Hour Trip – Tarpon Fishing - 3:00 PM • 2 adultsLovely boat clean and well looked after ,we only had one chance and unfortunately he threw the hook on his second jump the Capt is brilliant and worked his socks off trying to get us another chance but it wasn’t to be ,but Capt Evan is a really nice guy and I wouldn’t think twice about another trip or recommending him to anyone looking for a trip

4 Hour Fishing Trip - 1:00 PM • 2 adultsGreat afternoon ls fishing, Evan got us in fish straight away at every mark, started off catching snook, great fun on light gear, finished the trip having a go for tarpon, had one missed strike and one hook up leading to estimated 90lb tarpon, couldn't recommend Evan enough, knowledge was unbelievable very friendly, great guide, highly recommend zak

The Fish of a Lifetime!!! Tarpon On!!

Afternoon tarpon trips can be just as productive as morning trips, and usually end with a Gulf Coast sunset. As the sun starts to lower, it triggers the fish to tell them it’s feeding time. The tarpon in the pictures are 100lb+ and this is a common size tarpon this time of the year. Due to regulations, the tarpon have to stay in the water for the health of the fish, so we can catch those fish for years to come, as a 100lb tarpon is around 15 years old and they can live as long as 50+ years.

Spring fishing in full blast

Spring fishing in Clearwater is heating up, with water temps rising and fish getting active across the board. Seatrout are biting consistently on the flats with live bait producing best. Redfish are cruising and feeding well on higher tides, taking cut bait and other live offerings. Snook are being caught more often with pilchards and threadfins on moving water getting solid action. Tarpon are just starting to show along the beaches and passes, with threadfins working now and the crab bite right around the corner. Overall, bait is thick and fish are feeding hard

End of Winter Fishing

As we come into the end of winter and things are warming up, the fishing is heating up as well. More bait is starting to show up as the water temps warm up. During our most recent trips we have been catching plenty of seatrout, nice sized redfish, and some snook as well.

Spring Fishing Heating Up

As we get into our spring time fishing patterns, we continue catching plenty of trout, quality redfish, and snook more often as a the water warms up. Some kingfish, Spanish mackerel, and Bonita have been near shore, but that has been limited due to the heavy winds we’ve had this spring. A few have started to show up, but we haven’t spent the time to fish for them yet. The peak of their migration is just a few weeks away.

2022 Winter and Spring fishing

Through the next few months as things begin to warm the fishing will continue to get better. February, March, and into April the sheepshead fishing will be great as they get ready to spawn during those months. Pompano should start to show up as well in March and into April, using shrimp and pompano jigs to catch them. Last March we had a great kingfish season, when a giant school of them were just offshore out of Clearwater Pass. The redfishing has been good throughout the winter and we should start to see some larger schools show up on the flats soon as the temperatures increase. The snook have been a little tougher to find as water temps have fluctuated a lot, but as more consistent weather come the snook fishing should be good throughout spring into the summertime. The seatrout fishing has been great this winter, some days landing over 30 fish in one spot using artificial lures.
