This is now the second time I’ve been out with captain Bud. There are a lot of fishing charters that will take any tourist that comes down the pike out for a quick buck and do not care if you catch fish or not. This is not one of those charters. Last year I went out and caught fish until I was too tired to reel. Bluefish, striper, reds and more speckled trout than you can imagine. This year I wanted my girlfriend to have this incredible experience. We went out before the sunrise (because he wants to put you on fish and that’s when the fishing is good). We fished popping corks and topwater over grass beds and got into some incredible red drum. We are talking 15 pound fish on light tackle 8 pound test. Highlight of my trip was my girlfriend (novice-intermediate angler) catching the biggest red of the day and landing it. Then we ran over to another spot and got into an absolute speckled trout frenzy. A fish every cast. Several times we were tripled up on trout. We are talking a 2 man limit in 15 min or so. Fish on top. Fish on corks. Light tackle.

All this set aside, captain Bud is a good guy. He is from here/grew up here and knows these waters like the back of his hand. He is constantly working the conditions and the situation to give you the best experience. He wants you to catch fish as much as you want to catch fish.  Like I said, I will probably never go out with any other charter.

This charter was absolutely AWESOME. Went in the middle of March, so there were not a whole lot of great fishing options in the outer banks, but Bud, the Captain, made this trip memorable. Caught probably about 15 Stripers, got to keep my limit, also caught a couple large mouth bass to top it off. 4 hr trip, we caught the keeper 2 minutes before quittin’ time!! Captain cleaned the fish for me, I took it home, cooked it for the wife, it was absolutely AMAZING. Nothing beats fresh fish, especially striped bass. I’ve done MANY charter fishing trips in my life, this was as memorable as any of them. I STRONGLY recommend this boat and captain. He is also great with communication and availability.

This is the second year we’ve fished with Capt Bud and had another great trip. He knows the area and will work hard to put you on fish. He won’t waste your time sitting in one spot if fish aren’t biting there. His boat is neat and clean. His tackle is top if the line. Great personality with lots of interesting facts about the area.  You won’t be disappointed with his fishing skills. Will definately charter him next year

Capt. Bud hooked us up on a last minute trip with an incoming tropical storm.  He was able to get us out between rain bands and put us on some nice slot redfish.  Had a few hookups with giants, but they came undone.  Awesome trip Capt. Bud!

The Captain was extremely helpful and pleasant. Was very accommodating to a change in time. We caught our limit in less than 2 hours. Had an excellent experience and highly recommend! Will rebook if ever back in Outer Banks area.
