We had a blast fishing with Capt. Andy and his crew. Our 11yo wanted to catch alligator gar and my husband wanted a bull shark so we picked the Kraken trip as part of our vacation. We are easy going and definitely understand the nature of fishing so had no problem being flexible in meeting locations to start our trip. The 6 hours flew by. We caught so many gar (and lost some good ones too) I might have lost count. Our 11yo not only caught the gar he wanted but fought 2 Bull reds on his own. Unfortunately for my husband,  I caught the only bull shark that made it in the boat, though we did lose a few that cut through the line. My husband did get the big gar of the day 62” beating out our son’s 58” one. The huge smile on our son’s face said it all. This time of year, plenty of water and sunscreen is a must but I don’t think any of us were ready to be done at the end of our time. Capt. Andy and his deckhand John were great with our 11yo and good conversation all around.  We will definitely go back; in fact we are making plans now for making another trip.
