We ended up mostly not fishing ourselves and the 5hr trip was only 2 hours…

None of us had experience fishing so we expected to take our time to learn but the captain seemed to be in a rush. The rods were set up, cast and half reeled in by the captain/1st mate instead of actually letting us do and learn.

Benefit of the doubt, he has equipment to find the fish spots and explained that if u cast all rods quickly in unison you are more likely to have miltiple bites at the same time. This is true as all of our fish were caught in a matter of a few mins in short duration. That being said, our goal wasnt to get fish, it was to learn and have the experience. Would have prefered to catch half the fih or less if it meant us actually learning and doing it ourselves or finding the fishing spot multiple times if we scared them away due to being too slow.

In relation, since the captain/1st mate caught the fish very quickly and early in the trip, we headed back to shore and even though we went slowly, our 5 hour trip was over in about 2. I would have excused everything noted above if we had actually spent the 5 hours we paid for on the boat but no, the captain took us out, caught the fish for us and rushed us back. Not what any of us was expecting and soured our experience. Would not recommend.
