Excellent trip today.  We booked a five hour trip for my family. Myself, my 14-year-old daughter and my 12 year-old son made it to the boat just prior to 7 AM, with a cab ride from our resort. You could easily buy fishing licenses, right where the boat was, and you can buy extra bait if you need to (this is good for feeding the seals at end of day if you have extra… kids favourite part).

About half the time was spent fishing in a really good spot and the other half of the time was spent getting there and back with the fishing rods in the water. It is nice because the scenery is beautiful and you’re hoping for a bite. But when you finally do get into them… It’s awesome.

We caught four Dorados, two of them were quite big and pretty fun. We had a marlin on the line for a minute or two unfortunately it broke off..

Our guide Chino was awesome. Super friendly, hustled his butt off to make everything just right, showed us what to do and helped us with all the gear. He hooked into the fish and gave us the rod while we brought the fish in.

I understand now why a lot of of these fishing boats want you to do eight hours. We were catching fish and things were going great but we had to go back.  Three more hours in the honey hole would’ve probably landed more fish and a marlin I bet. We saw a Marlin swim under the boat, we saw a guy right beside us with a marlin on (confirmed on the spectacular jump) and we had a marlin for a minute. They’re out there!! It’s cool.  Little more time… for sure!

Captain Carlos was doing everything thing to put us on the fish (Marlin). We caught a dorado and had a blast just being out there. 1st mate Chino professional at what he does, very passionate about fishing and loves catching them. Great communication between cap and crew, always checking to see if baits were still good and attention to each rod on deck was impressive. Would highly recommend to book a charter with them.

We were on a cruize and wanted to do some fishing in Cabo San Lucas so we booked a trip with with the Rosa Del Mar. We were limited on time because of the cruize schedule so we were only able to book a 4 hour trip. We were after striped Marlin and it was our first time ever fishing for them. We didn’t catch any or have any legit bites. One bait got hit and dinged up a bit as we trolled along but it was probably a bonita or another smaller fish and not the target species. We were there during the end of February which wasn’t the most ideal time and the fishing had been slow for everybody. Chino our deck hand did a good job rigging the rods and bait and we gave it our best shot but catching a striped marlin just wasn’t in the cards that day. I was happy that the dock where the Rosa Del Mar is was only about a 3 minute walk from where the cruize ship tender dropped us off. My father in law has a bad back and can’t walk long distances and my brother in law had torn a quad muscle in his leg so the short walking distance was very helpful and well appreciated. We split the $400.00 cost between the 3 of us which was cheaper than going on the Cruize ship excursion that the others in our group went on.  I would rather go fishing any day so I count it as a win. As we came back into the harbor Chino hand fed some bait to a couple pelicans that were following us. A sealion jumped up on the back of the boat and was only about 6 feet from us and Chino gave him a couple fish. It was pretty cool to see the pelicans and sealion up so close. I would give this trip more than 3 stars if we had caught something but we still had a good time. I would strongly consider coming back in April or in the fall when the fishing us suppose to be better and going out with these guys again.

Great day fishing with Carlos,  Carlos and Jesus. They knew how to find the fish and we were able to land a Striped Marlin. Friendly crew who did everything to put us on fish. Saw whales, sea lions and other marine life. Would highly recommend Rosa Del Mar for yoir next fishing charter. Thank you guys.
