Captain Ted of Crooked Creek Charters gave us an unforgettable experience! My kids and I had an absolute blast out on the water and caught a ton of fish. What truly set this trip apart was Captain Ted’s knowledge and approach — he didn’t just bait hooks and reel in lines for us. He actually took the time to teach and explain everything in a way that was easy to understand and fun to learn. You walk away not only with a cooler full of fish, but with skills and confidence to go again.

His boat is top-notch — clean, comfortable, and fully equipped — and it’s clear he leaves no stone unturned to make the trip as smooth and successful as possible. To top it all off, he took the time at the end of the charter to capture a stunning sunset photo of our group. It was the perfect ending to an already incredible day.

Captain Ted was the absolute perfect host! The boat was very clean and well-equipped. He was patient with the grandkids (ages 9 and 12), showed them lots of fun details about the equipment and the fish, and we all caught our limit! Ted clearly knows what he’s doing. Didn’t hurt that the weather was perfect also!

We had a great time on the lake, caught our limit and Captian Ted taught the grandkids fun facts about Walleye. Captian Ted was very friendly, engaging and put us on the bite in no time. I would definitely recommend him for your fishing adventure . We will definitely be back again, thanks Captian Ted!!

We went out late Sunday afternoon after the wind finally died down about 5 pm for a late afternoon charter. After about a 15 minute ride Ted got all the lines out and almost immediately we started to catch very nice walleye. Ted kept us busy reeling in fish, telling great stories treating us to a great afternoon. Fast forward three hours and we had more than enough fish, a ton of great memories and planning on when we can get back up to Conneaut for our next trip on Erie.

Ted keeps a very tidy boat and his equipment is top notch. I recall him saying that all his rod/reel combos are replaced every two years so there are no problems. HIs knowledge of this area and fishery was impressive and born of many years of fishing and following the fish. I would recommend him over any captain I have been with on the great lakes.

I am pretty sure you would have to want to have a bad time to not enjoy yourself.

We had the best time on our trip.  Ted was a phenomenal captain.  Our family of 6 including two children enjoyed our time on the water.  We traveled from out of state and looking forward to book again next summer.
