We went out late Sunday afternoon after the wind finally died down about 5 pm for a late afternoon charter. After about a 15 minute ride Ted got all the lines out and almost immediately we started to catch very nice walleye. Ted kept us busy reeling in fish, telling great stories treating us to a great afternoon. Fast forward three hours and we had more than enough fish, a ton of great memories and planning on when we can get back up to Conneaut for our next trip on Erie.

Ted keeps a very tidy boat and his equipment is top notch. I recall him saying that all his rod/reel combos are replaced every two years so there are no problems. HIs knowledge of this area and fishery was impressive and born of many years of fishing and following the fish. I would recommend him over any captain I have been with on the great lakes.

I am pretty sure you would have to want to have a bad time to not enjoy yourself.

Highly recommend Crooked Creek Charters! From the initial booking phone call to the moment we stepped on board, Captain Ted made us feel welcome and comfortable, especially the kids. He was incredibly patient and engaging with active boys ages 9 to 13 who loaded up the questions.

The fishing was fantastic! We caught over 20 walleye, a sheephead and striped bass along with a beautiful sunset. The view and the excitement on the kids’ faces was priceless. Reasonably priced and well worth money spent.

We loved Capt Ted - boat was clean and comfortable for 5 - we caught a huge mess of big walleye and he cleaned them for us including the cheeks! Capt was knowledgeable about the lake itself and the fish - we had a delightful day on the water. He had multiple rigs and equipment going at all times it was impressive to Watch and most fun to catch!!

Captain Ted really went above. I was a little nervous about how my 3 kids, 11, 8, and 5, would respond to a fishing trip. We booked a 4 hour trip to see how’d they’d like it. Im not sure any other charter would have worked out so well. Captain Ted made my kids comfortable and took the time to help them individually. They had a blast and caught tons of fish. Can’t recommend Ted enough. Beautiful boat, and he put us right on the fish. Any time we’re in town, he’s the 1st call we’ll make.

We did a three day trip for my father’s 70th birthday. There were 6 of us ranging in ages from 15-70 and we all had a blast. Capt Ted was as easy going as they come and chock full stories. Just a good dude! He put us on fish right away and we stayed on them all day. Over 170 fish caught in 3 days. Needless to say we limited out all three days. One of the best trips we have been on. Don’t second guess yourself, just book it. You won’t regret it!
