When you're in the mood for some excellent fishing on Lake Erie, turn to Crooked Creek Charters! Captain Ted Race will be your guide to the strong bite, and he's been fishing these waters for over a decade, so he knows exactly where to go to put you on the fish.
Come fish aboard a 29' Striper walkaround rigged with twin new 300 HP Suzuki engines, that are not only very quiet, but also eco-friendly. The vessel is spacious and can sit up to 6 anglers, and you can cast your line from every part of the boat. There's both hot and cold running water on the boat, along with a private toilet, and an air-conditioned cabin.
Capt. Ted has two big coolers to keep your catch fresh, as well as a sizeable live bait well. You will use Okuma fishing rods and reels, and live bait will be provided before the trip. You just need to pack your fishing license (buy it online or in the nearby tackle shop), drinks, snacks, and lunch.
On Lake Erie, choosing the right speed and depth to troll is everything, and your guide has the experience and precision to help you catch your limit. Walleye fishing is superb here, but Yellow Perch and Smallmouth Bass are equally abundant and fun to catch. You will be using light tackle exclusively and that will make every fishing fight more exhilarating.
After your trip, the guide and the first mate will clean the catch for your convenience. The first mate will also assist with everything while you're fishing. For his efforts, 20% tip is customary and appreciated.
If you like to fish with your kids, Capt. Ted loves having little ones on his boat, and he's got suitable life jackets for them too. capt. spotted us and met us at our vehicle and introduced himself. we loaded up and wasted no time getting underway. left the dock at 6:35 and my yougest son boated the first fish at 6:55am. the capt. Ted put us on the fish quick and stayed on them. we had 5 people fishing and the capt. had our 30 fish walleye limit by 10:30am and that was after letting a few smaller fish go and losing a few including an over 30 inches that we lost at the back of the boat. we did have roughly 10 sheepshead that we threw back also and 1 white bass. we had a fantasic time and will be booking Capt. Ted again if he will have us. Thanks again Sir for the conversation and the excellent fishing

We had a great trip with Captain Race. We caught our limit on Walleye and also caught a few Sheephead and White Bass. Our boys (11 and 13) were engaged the whole trip and enjoyed every minute. Captain Race explained everything we did and showed the boys some awesome techniques for handling fish. Captain Race cleaned and fileted the fish for us. He gave us a recommendation for a local restaurant for dinner - which was awesome too. We had a great time and would definitely book with him again.

My wife and two sons never fished on Lake Erie before. I always heard it was the walleye capital of the world, now it is confirmed! Our guide Ted, was amazing. This guy knows his stuff. He called me around noon to let us know that it was rough waters and asked if we would rather reschedule for another day, but we said we would like to go anyway. I'm glad we did. It was choppy at first, but calmed down throughout the trip. We had several lines out trolling, which I've ever experienced. We all limited out on walleye an even caught a few unwanted drum. We had great music and just an overall blast. I have a feeling that we will be booking another trip sometime in the future. Dont hesitate on this trip with Crooked Creek!

I had a great time fishing with Captain Ted on the Plum Naked. From the moment we stepped aboard, he was professional, welcoming, and well-prepared. Captain Ted put us right on the fish, and I caught six walleye, all large enough to keep, in less than 90 minutes. The boat was clean, comfortable, and top-of-the-line. I highly recommend Captain Ted to both beginners and seasoned anglers. We'll definitely be back!

This was our second trip with Captain Ted, and we cant begin to imagine hiring anyone else! Of course, we caught fish—some beautiful Walleye. But more than that, Ted is knowledgeable, personable, engaging with our kids, and tells great stories. We highly, highly recommend!
