What a great afternoon and evening we had with Goran! My two sons and I were looking for an option to fish offshore. This is our third holiday in Croatia and we always fish from the coast and book one trip with a guide. So we have some experience but this trip was the best! Goran is a person who inherited the fishing passion from his father together with the love of nature on Ulgjan. He has very much experience in all kind of fishing and started a Tuna farm for sustainable way of supplying tuna to restaurants in Croatia. But he decided to start this year with guiding fishing trips in the afternoon after his work in the farm. He loves to let his guests experience the variaty of fish in the local waters he knows so well. This together with serving delicious olive oil from his family trees and ansjovis catched by his brother. So we felt like going out with a good friend, sharing his best home products. Besides of that we had great weather and the luck that fishermans sometimes have to have a great catch of several types of fish. I do really appreciate that Goran is releasing small fishes or fishes that are not great to cook. We catched a large dangerous weever fish that is poisened. He also released this fish with respect.
This was a fishermans dream to be with my sons and surrounded only by sea and mountains, reeling in one fish after another from 60 meters deep water. This accompanied by a magnificent sunset and feel good music of Nora Jones on the background. It just couldn’t get any better….! the day after we had a delicious diner with the fresh fish (that Goran offered to clean on the boat) so we could close the circle of great Croatian way of life! I would recommend anybody to go out fishing with Goran if you want to go out with an honest, experienced, authentic and very friendly guide that seems part of the Ugljan sea.
