I grew up in Jacksonville and fell in love with fishing in college. I spent most of my time working on charter boats fishing and learning how to share my passion with others on my own boat.

    Great inshore/Jetties trip!!

    Full Day4 adults

highly recommend Rocketman Charters! very personable captain that worked like crazy to put us on fish. Caught one slot red, 10-15 flounder, with 6 very nice keepers. A lunker sized whiting and a Jack. plus several Blennies, a couple cats and an undersized mangrove snapper. blennies and cats annoying but reeling in fish is always fun. End of day found several very nice tarpon chasing mullet by the shrimp boats but couldn't get them to bite. 2 mantees swam right under the boat! saw gobs of dolphins and cool water birds. All and all a great experience!

    Reported catch:
    Redfish
    Flounder

Thanks Andy, I hope to see you all again in the future.

    Wonderful trip!

Four hour AM Trip3 adults1 child

We had an amazing time on our inshore charter! Jonathan was incredibly kind, patient, and knowledgeable. He did a fantastic job teaching my son, making sure he understood what to do while keeping the trip fun and exciting. We caught quite a few fish and even brought home a couple of really nice keepers! It was a great experience from start to finish, and you can tell he truly enjoys what he does. I highly recommend this charter to anyone looking for a fun, family-friendly fishing trip. We'll definitely be back!

    Four Hour Afternoon Trip3 adults

we had an afternoon fishing trip. We were a little but the captain had the boat read and had us on the water quickly. My son loves to fish and learn whatever he can about different ways to fish, the captain was super nice and answered all of my son's questions. He seemed to enjoy taking us out. We had a great time and would definitely go again.

    Response from Captain

Thanks for the awesome review Brian, I had a great time out there with yall.

    Another great trip!

    Six Hour Morning Trip2 adults

My fourth time fishing with Rocketman; Never been to the same spot twice! Always catch fish. This latest trip was most notable for the sight fishing for tailing Redfish first thing in the morning. Went on to catch several reds and flounder. I like the 6 hour trip over the 4 hour trip because it gives more flex with the tides.

    Reported catch:
    Redfish
    Flounder
    Response from Captain

Thank you for your continued support Eric!

    Great experience!

    Four hour AM Trip3 adults

I had a craving midweek to go fishing. I booked with Captain Jon last minute, and he pulled through! Even though the fish weren’t biting, he still put me on some Sheepshead and we had a blast. This particular charter is great for smaller parties, 2-3 people. Pickup was punctual and the boat was in great shape. 10/10 would recommend!

    Reported catch:
    Redfish
    Sheepshead
    Response from Captain

Thanks for the great review! It was a pleasure meeting you and getting to fish together. Looking forward to our next trip out

What's biting with Rocketman Charter Fishing in Jacksonville

Fishing starts to diversify again in September. Look out for Tarpon in large numbers as they school from Fernadina to Matansaz Inlet. Offshore, Sailfish is biting 25 miles out.

Flounder season with bonus reds

May 6, 2026 • Jacksonville
As we near the end of May the flounder fishing inshore will be good for several weeks. Live mullet fishing is always a blast as this leads to great bycatch of redfish, trout, and jack crevalles. Occasionally a tarpon will strike as well.

Late April Update

Apr 22, 2026 • Jacksonville
We are at the end of April and the fishing has started its transition into the Summer pattern ever so slightly. The Water temperature is still hovering around 70 and the redfish, sheepshead, and flounder have been loving it. Plenty of great action as of late

Quick bite before the storm

Mar 13, 2026 • Jacksonville
On our morning four hour we had great conditions to go target redfish. There was a line of showers approachingfrom the west but we expected them to arrive well after fishing was over. We ran to an area that had been productive as of late and the fish did not disappoint. We landed a 4 man boat limit of reds and threw back several over slot fish as well. Great day

Redfish galore

Mar 9, 2026 • Jacksonville
So far this spring we are seeing an awesome bite of redfish throughout the marsh. We have been catching them all over the jetties, in the creeks, and in the river. From juveniles to bulls the Redfish have been a common sight on our trips. These fish are a blast to catch on light tackle live bait or artificial. Whether you like to eat them or do catch and release the reds will be a top target of mine all spring long.

Late February update

Feb 24, 2026 • Jacksonville
Late February fishing has consisted of redfish and sheepshead here in Northeast Florida. The weather has been all over the place with days in the 80s and then a freeze warning just days later. This has made fishing more difficult but we still are seeing some quality fish being caught. Although we may not be catching the numbers of fish we are still seeing great quality fish. Omce the weather straightens out and gets more consistent the fishing should improve and return to a normal pattern.

February Creek Fishing

Feb 18, 2026 • Jacksonville
On our afternoon trip we fished the last bit of outgoing tide and the first of the incoming. We ran up into a shallow creek that gave us an opportunity to fish for redfish, trout, and flounder. As usual we used a mix live, cut, and artificial baits to catch our targeted species. It was a warmer day than it has been making the fish and bait a bit more active.
