On our afternoon trip we fished the last bit of outgoing tide and the first of the incoming. We ran up into a shallow creek that gave us an opportunity to fish for redfish, trout, and flounder. As usual we used a mix live, cut, and artificial baits to catch our targeted species. It was a warmer day than it has been making the fish and bait a bit more active.

It is now late January and winter is definitely making its presence known. We left the dock at 8am and had temperatures in the mid to upper 30s. Although it was chilly while the boat was moving ,the day was gorgeous when we stopped to fish. We found plenty of clean water working in and out of creeks but we struggled to find fish willing to eat. Once the tide shifted and started to come back in the fish turmed on. We were able to land a handful of trout and redfish in short order but had to work hard to find the fish that wanted to cooperate.

Just as the water twmps began to cool significantly the inshore fishing in our area turned on and most species were ready to eat. We saw great numbers of Sheepshead, Redfish, and speckled Trout all throughout December. Once again we used a variety of live bait and artificials and targeted areas with moving water.
