Thank you Brian! Your near-shore trip last week was such a blessing to be a part of. The comradery aboard “at EASE” between three SF Soldiers, a Recon Marine, and the BEST-Best-Man on Earth made this an EPIC day! Brian, you put together a bachelor party that made L4K history. Congrats to Matt and his bride-to-be.

The Gulf was flat-calm, with zero wind and no current. Conditions made it tough to get the Gulf Red Snapper excited, but PERFECT for sight-casting at two beautiful Mahi-mahi! The “special team” worked together and put a 33” Bull and 29” Cow in the cooler!

Hovering over an artificial reef, we kept them close with dead Menhaden and set the hook on a Penn Battle II 3000 with 30lb braid. Your crew caught some other fish, but a pair of Mahi-mahi in 65’ of water, in site of the Emerald Grande was amazing!

Brian, I’m so grateful for the opportunity to do-life with men like you: men who are leaning forward, making a difference, and shaking up the world. Thank you for the gracious review Jeff. You and your son Drew were great fishermen and handled each of those King Mackerels like pros. Mingo Snapper and Trigger Fish kept us busy for a while as well. It is amazing how close we are to those fish here in Destin, FL. We were on the fish within 20 minutes after buying bait from the **hidden content** Bait VHF Ch 80. It is a game-changer to ride-less and fish-more on a charter trip like this. Thank you for being good stewards of our fishery and my gear aboard “at EASE”. Thank you Mike, Tara, and Kaylynn for Making Memories with L4K Charters! I will remember your beautiful family. Kaylynn’s sweet, little voice as she reeled in fish-after-fish-after-fish… Quite the angler at age six! Daddy kept the line-tight with another one to land as she posed for a picture with each fish. Redfish, Croaker, and Pinfish made the album. Kaylynn took-on the First Mate duties to manage the bait when Momma and Daddy got in on the action. That bucket of Menhaden kept her busy for the rest of the trip. She helped the Captain chum the water and bait hooks. Mom and Dad were tied with four slot Redfish each—of course Mike hooked his fifth one just before we pulled up the Power-Poles and called it a day. Thank you for permission to catch-and-release. We tried everything to stretch some lines but the fish were not in the mood. Due to the recent cold front we pushed the start-time back an hour but still had to deal with the water temps in the low 60’s. Keith, Kimberly, Rebecca, and Connor worked hard to make quality casts in difficult areas around structure and docks. We lost a few sheepshead at the jetty to our resident dolphins. The wind kept us on the leeward coastlines and back bayous. We did land a spanish mack on troll and several mangrove snappers around the docks. It was good fellowship but a less-than stellar harvest of fish. I’d like to invite Keith and his family back for another chance. Our fishery is truly amazing.
