The captain started fishing at a very young age. His grandfather had a boat on Lake Erie, and his father also had a boat there, as well as a bass boat. Needless to say, the captain didn't have much of a chance of not becoming a fisherman! If they weren't fishing on Lake Erie, they were on one of the other nearby inland lakes. Since the captain was about 10 years old, he and his family have fished in at least one tournament a week. Fishing has simply always been what they did, and there aren't many styles of fishing in which the captain doesn't have some experience.

    Perfect fishing trip with Lake Erie Charter Service

    Full Day (Am) With Fish Cleaning • 2 adults • 1 child

    Great people, Great equipment, Great experience! Captain Tom Ullum made our first ever Lake Erie walleye fishing trip very enjoyable and memorable. My grandson and I came up from Cinti and fished Aug 3 - 4. We were supposed to fish 7AM - 1PM both days, but a storm front the evening of the 2nd made it impossible to go out in the AM on the 3rd. So Tom made adjustments to the original schedule allowing us to fish the PM on the 3rd. We had such a good time both days, and wore ourselves out pulling in all the fish. Tom knew where the fish were, had all the lines out, and just handed us a rod when a fish was on. I would strongly suggest paying the extra $$ for having them clean the fish. Tom's wife does the cleaning and we came home with 3 freezer bags of skinned fillets. You really get more than you're paying for when you book with these folks.     Captain Jeremy greeted us at the boat when we arrived, within 10 minutes he had given us the safety briefing and made my three grandsons and I feel like family, and were on our way out onto the Lake. He was very knowledgeable, answering all of our questions. I can’t stress enough how comfortable he made us feel. He rigged all of our poles and almost immediately we began catching walleye! Big ones!! We of course had a few tangled lines and Capt. Jeremy deftly handled those with a smile and patience. Then, back at the dock, our catch was percectly cleaned…this is a full-service charter with friendly pros who take good care of you!!

    Family fun on Lake Erie!

    Late Start! • 4 adults • 1 child

    We had an amazing day on Lake Erie catching multiple walleye! Our captain was Jeff - he was friendly, knowledgeable, and worked hard to ensure “line management” and “controlled chaos!” You will learn these terms with him! The boat was clean and comfortable, and the scenery on the lake was beautiful. We were the only ones out there which surely allowed us to catch plenty of walleye and made some great family memories. If you’re looking for a fun, relaxing, and successful fishing trip, I highly recommend this lovely family friendly charter. We had an 10 and 14 year old with us. They loved it! Do make sure to take your dramamine! We would certainly book this trip again!

    Tom was great. Everything went very smoothly. Tom took his time showing us how everything worked. Three of us from 19 to 76 had a great eperience. Tom knows where the Walleye are. He asked if we wanted to go quick or stretch out our time. We decided to catch them quickly and we limited out in about two hours. I appreciated that he offered to make it last over the time booked if we wanted. We had Tom clean our fish for us and are looking forward to the fish fry.

    great time! i would highly recommend these guys to everyone. ive been on other charters and these guys were the best by far! the crew were a great group of guys very knowledgable and personable and they made it a great experience for all of us! we will definitely never use anyone but these guys in the future! we started catchin fish right off the bat and limited out. overall great experience and great group of guys!

    Jeff our Captain was awesome. the lake was very rough, however were able to catch some really nice Walleye. great laughs and stories. i would highly recommend them.

    captain and boat are awesome. middle of August fishing is hard but we managed to be 5 fish away from a 6 man limit.

    Captain Jeff took us out and we reeled in our daily limit. The boat was the perfect size for our 5 person party and Captain Jeff was fun to spend the afternoon with. When we got back to the dock we met Captain Tom and hung out with him while our fish were being cleaned. I will definitely be booking our charter next summer with these guys.

The end of may through july is when we catch the aggressive male walleyes not as big as the females we get in the cold months but its non-stop action we have been having a hard time keeping lines in the water becasuse clients are reeling in fish faster then we can get the lines back out a great problem to have

Limit after limit has been the trend We have been fishing 5-7 miles north west of lorain harbor both boats have limited out on every trip for over a month now Trolling spoons and bandit crankbaits have been doing all the damage
