We had an amazing half day trip and experience with Carolina. It took about thirty minutes to get out to our first spot for trolling and we were initially targeting Mahi, but after about an hour of trolling a marlin passed by the boat and the captain threw out a line with live bait in the path of the marlin and managed to hook it. It was pretty incredible to watch. Once we landed the first marlin a second marlin hit about thirty minutes later and this time my wife reeled this one in. The crew were incredibly knowledgeable and it was easy to tell they were trying to put us on fish. Additionally, we unexpectedly came upon a pod of dolphins and for about twenty minutes the crew was able to position the boat so the dolphins would swim under and around the boat. Truly an unforgettable trip and we will be looking to use Carolina again. A couple of things to point out. One, you will need to purchase a fishing license which they have available to purchase dockside. It was quick and easy. Secondly, Carolina will coordinate the cleaning of the fish; however you will need to bring some cash for this. The marlin we kept was $30 USD.

I’ve been charter fishing several times before. This fishing expedition made my Cobo trip. The last time I went fishing for Marlin I went on a 7 hour boat ride and didn’t catch anything. However, that captain came with no live bait and was not willing to fish for what I wanted.

On this trip the crew was receptive to my request to change from Marlin to Tuna. Shortly thereafter we scored a Wahoo and then a Marlin.

It was awesome and the Carolina never missed a beat.  I like catching fish over boat rides.

When the fish gets close to the boat, the crew absolutely know how to work together so the fish isn’t lost. I was impressed. This is my 5-6th charter from Alaska, Hawaii, California, and Cobo x2.

Dolphins and Birds seem to be good predictors of fish.

We arrived for our fishing adventure, and were promptly greeted at our assigned meeting spot at Capt Tony’s.  Fishing licenses were quickly procured and we were off and fishing in under 15 minutes.  The cost of two licenses were provided with the boat charter….as well as bait, ice, beer, water and breakfast burritos.

The boat was clean, well equipped, and there was a marine toilet available.  Captain Martin and first mate Jorge, were professional, knowledgeable and provided an experience we won’t forget!  Within 90 minutes, each of us had the thrill of reeling in our own dorado (mahi).  At this point we headed for deep water in search of the ever elusive marlin!  Although we never found one, we had an unforgettable experience on this charter.

Already looking forward to our trip back to Cabo next year and another fishing charter with Carolina Fishing Tours!

We had a great time and the Captain and crew were very knowledgeable and experienced and helped us land a striped Marlin!  My buddy and I have both been on other deep sea fishing tours and neither of us had caught anything before.  We both took turns and reeled in a great fish that they helped us get butchered and take to our resort where we thoroughly enjoyed it!  Highly recommend them for a great fishing experience!

So we told the crew (Captain William and First Mate Jorge that we would like to start out by catching anything and then work towards getting a Marlin. We began trolling for Mahi Mahi and despite the crew working hard changing baits and locations for about 3.5 hours, nothing, not a nibble.  So the Captain asked if we wanted to go to an area with some Marlin action. We headed there and saw a few other boats with marlins on the line. Then came our turn when a marlin hit one of our lines. My wife got in the fighting chair and began to reel in. After a big struggle and the awesome assistance of the crew, she was able to land a striped Marlin, which has been a lifetime dream of hers. Also, on the way in, we also caught a Mahi Mahi.
