Miller and Eduardo worked hard to catch fish. Although it was a slow start, the action later was exciting! Reeling in yellow fin tuna was a challenge for this 70 year old lady, but the guys were encouraging and patient! Conversations were educational and friendly. They also recommended a great restaurant, La Gaviota Tropical in Hermosa,  where they would prepare a meal with our catch. The meal was the best of our whole trip!! Pura vida!

If we had booked this trip before the last day of our vacation I would have tried to add a second day. You can keep what you catch (our resort cooked some of it for us). We are bringing some of the rest home - just know getting coolers is not easy or cheap here (maybe plan ahead and bring one if you are going to go fishing). We had to have brought a few hundred pounds of fish into the boat in one 8 hour trip. We also hooked into much larger fish that snapped the line or spit the top small hook.... More

Perfect morning for fishing! Miller and Eduardo were great, and Jose had fantastic communication beforehand. He was also there to meet us and introduce us to the crew when they picked us up on the beach at our hotel (so nice!). We weren’t getting any bites, so they kept moving us around until we finally got some hits. We ended up with two Mahi Mahi and a tuna. My family and I arrived two days prior to the fishing trip and although it had been consistently raining, on the fishing day it was mostly sunny! Jose assured us that the conditions would be good on that certain day! Miller and Eduardo were the captains/deck hands and were very accommodating to my family and I. Our fishing expedition was a spectacular experience! Fabian and Capitan were phenomenal fishing guides - we caught several large king mackerel and cravelle jacks. Because not all on our boat were anglers, they also guided us to hidden caves, a mangrove forest, and snorkeling over a reef. In total we caught more fish than we’d hoped, and saw amazing marine life - manta rays, sea turtles, crocodile, and blue heron. I couldn’t recommend these guys more! Pura Vida!
