Guanacaste Adventure Tours 

Jose helped coordinate this trip two months in advance and kept it a surprise for my husband for Fathers Day. Eduardo and Miller we’re wonderful on the boat and provided amazing customer service! My kids were 14 and 12 and they were very patient allowing them many opportunities to cast and reel. in the end, we got a 30 pound big eyed Jack fish and a bass. We were able to take the big eyed Jack fish back to the Riu, where we signed a waiver, and they cooked it at the buffet for us on a beautiful platter. We felt like royalty! I highly recommend having Jose pick you up at the hotel for a little extra and would totally do this again. We did the half-day next time we will increase and do the full day but half day was perfect for our family to start 

We had a great day on the water with our party of 8!! We did the half day trip where Jose greeted us right on the beach near our resort. The water was a little dangerous in that area so we were shuttled to safer point where we could jump on. We were greeted by our Captain and fishing expert as they were our guides for the tour as well as a cooler full of drinks and fruit! We took about 30 min ride out in the ocean and starting casting right away. The wind had other plans as it was SO choppy and a lot of us started to get sick (I am not a sea sick person and I was even nauseous). Nothing anyone could do about that but the crew realized what was happening and quickly took us to a flatter location. No luck catching anything at this point but we had a wonderful ride around the area and got to see some monkeys, dolphins, and iguana as well as some HUGE houses and resorts. Very lovely area. Then we went back out to try again. The tuna were EVERY WHERE!!! I think we caught like 12 in the span of an hour which was really cool for our whole party but especially our 4 boys. The crew got them fileted and sliced up for us to take home at the end. We had a great time and would likely recommend Jose and his very professional crew!

We were picked up on the beach at our hotel right on time and started fishing within a few minutes. A great experience with a friendly crew, perfect for what we wanted! Not the best trip for anyone looking to get real serious fishing done (mostly due to boat configuration), but perfect for a nice day on the water with good conversation and great food. Our crew made fresh ceviche from some of the tuna we caught... And let me tell you... It was probably the best ceviche we've ever had! Can't thank the crew enough! The boat was spotless, the drinks provided were ice cold, and we were able to take home some fresh tuna which was prepared at Roberto's which we would also highly recommend! Captain Jose was able to help us make the reservations and took care of all the details! Would definitely book again!

We had a great experience with Captain Eduardo and first mate Miller. From the moment we booked to the end of the fishing trip everyone involved was attentive and professional. When we boarded the boat we expressed our desire to catch tuna and the elusive Rooster fish. Our daughter loves tuna and she was dead set on catching one. Eduardo and Miller knew exactly where to take us to get her first catch. She loved the experience of reeling in her first Yellowfin. We were nearing the end of the charter and had enough time for one last try for the Rooster. After finding a massive bait school we landed a trophy Rooster to cap the day off. Great trip! It was an amazing family friendly fishing trip with attentive and laid back captain and first mate. Well definitely book them again the next time we come.

I booked with Jose based on the outstanding reviews on Fishbooker, and I couldn’t be happier with our experience with Guanacaste Adventure Tours. The fishing was excellent — my kids landed tuna, big jacks, and a mahi-mahi. Beyond the fishing, we saw whales, dolphins, sea turtles, and had an all-around epic day on the water. Cold drinks, fresh fruit, and a relaxed but professional crew made it even better. We also booked a sunset boat tour with snorkeling, and Jose went above and beyond by remembering that it was my son’s birthday. He surprised him with a birthday cake on the boat, which made the day truly unforgettable. I can’t recommend Guanacaste Adventure Tours enough. Jose’s crew is top-notch and worked incredibly hard to find fish, and his customer service is the best I’ve experienced anywhere. Jose also offers many tours beyond fishing. We just returned from a crocodile river tour, and he made sure we were the first boat on the river, which meant incredible wildlife sightings. His extensive knowledge made the experience even more rewarding. If you’re considering a fishing trip or tour in the area, book with Jose — you won’t regret it.

The company asked a lot of questions to ensure they knew what we wanted out of our trip and the crew made sure to accommodate our requests. We were lucky to catch fish including a large yellowfin tuna. the crew fileted the fish for us and directed us to a wonderful local restaurant that prepared our catch for us. Additionally, they brought snorkle equipment and took us to a beautiful beach area with extremely beautiful clear water where we were able to see turtles, pufferfish, and more. Highly reccomend!

We had the best day on the water with Captain Orlando and Alberto! We caught a 6 foot sailfish and 5 Yellowfin tuna. Great vibes on the boat, and the crew worked hard all day to find the fish. They prepared delicious ceviche with our catch and had drinks and fresh fruit for all of us. We ended our day with a swim and some snorkling at a secluded beach.

All great all around - communcation prior to the trip, right on time morning of, great crew that were friendly and helpful, we caught 5 fish, good fruit snack for boat ride home, and Jose even gave me a lot of ideas about how to cook the tuna, blue runner, and barracudas we caught. highly recommend!

The crew was great. We actually caught our own bait, which was cool. The kids were treated like royalty … which my son got to catch the biggest fish, 30 lbs of amberjack . Which I was, I want to get the biggest fish (it’s a dad thing), but we all landed fish, so if you’re looking for a crew to take you out, I would pick them every time.

We had a seriously good trip with these fellas. Lots of drinks, fruit, and some sanwiches provided. We got hooked up to five different types of fish, including a couple of big roosters. Also saw a ton of wildlife and had time to stop at a cool little beach for a swim. Great guys, great trip. thanks very much.
