I grew up in the coastal waters of SC. I started out fishing, like many anglers do, with a passion for figuring out how to become a better angler. I also spent many years fishing on the professional Redfish tournament trails. Our goal is to leave you with a sense of accomplishment after a trip together. Teaching and seeing smiles are the biggest joy on our trips. Fishing is about relaxation, catching fish, and getting to see the local knowledge. Great customer service is paramount to our business.     1st time Intercoastal Fishing…Awesome!!!

    Capt Chappy is the best! 1st stop and we statted carching fish (and a few keepers). I asked him to concentrate on my 15yr okd son to make sure he had a great time and he was happy to do that. All day long he helped make sure this was a memorable experience. His knowledge of the Charleston Harbor and surrounding areas are 2nd to none. we were on fish all day. Thank you Capt Chappy! We will definitely be back!!!

    Half Day Trip Inshore (4 Hours AM) • 2 adults

    Met at the scheduled time and maintained excellent communication prior to our meeting. This was my first trip, and both my son and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We had a great time, caught loads of fish, and made some wonderful memories. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone looking for a great fishing experience.

    Excellent Inshore Trip for reds and trout!

    is an awesome guide. Super nice guy and knows exactly where to go to get the fish. Chappy put me on a handful of reds and speckled trout. He told me exactly Where the fish were going to be and exactly how to catch them. Awesome trip and I highly recommend Captain Chappy for your next trip!

The summer shows no sign of stopping as September rolls around. Billfish and Tuna are still available offshore, while Trout and Flounder dominate the shallows. In short, there are fish everywhere!

Water Temps are finally starting to warm up. The redfish are starting to bite a bit better and the bait is starting to show up in the creeks. We are keying in on small flats with clear water.

With the waters around Charleston still being super clear, the redfish are stacked up on the flats. Live shrimp under a popping cork have been doing the trick.

Memorial Day Madness

May 26, 2024 • Mount Pleasant
The entire Memorial Day weekend was action packed. Waters we calm and clear. The baitfish are schooled around every corner. Wes and his crew caught speckled trout in large numbers with his bachelor party group. Jason, Emily, and Colin also fished the weekend. We were in search for large black drum and large patroliing reds. Emily caught the biggest red in her life, while Jason burned up the drag on some stellar black drums. If you arent fishing yet this year your missing oit.

May has been aMAYzing!!!!

May 3, 2024 • Mount Pleasant
May in Charleston can be one of the best months of the year to fish. Big speckled trout, redfish, black drum, and so much of our inshore species are waking up! More and more 'finfish" baits like menhaden and mullet are showing up in the creeks and rivers surrounding Charleston. This gives anglers a chance to catch super aggressive speckled trout and redfish. The appearance of these bait fish triggers a feeding frenzy where fish feel like they "must" strike immediately. This is due to the cooler winter months of having no to little pray to feed on. In the spring these fish still have a competitive drive to feed as much and as quickly as they can in fear to losing out on a meal again. As we drift into early summer, June provides lots of action on bigger "bull" redfish and even sharks. Warmer water temps will drive Apex predator fish to deeper depths, giving anglers the chance to catch a monster. Come hop aboard and find out what it's like to bend a rod on these fantastic fish.

Fall bite is on!

Sep 5, 2020 • Mount Pleasant
Even though the cooler weather isn't here yet, the inshore fall bite has been heating up. Redfish and Sea Trout are busting the shrimp in the shallows. Nearshore the Bull redfish and sharks are still on the prowl. With early season (fall wether fronts) coming into play, the morning bite has been excellent. My clients have had some great success fishing live shrimp under a float. The next couple of months are the most exciting times to fish the Charleston area.
