Inshore fishing consists of fishing in the rivers, creeks, inlets, and beaches surrounding Charleston. Typically the water is calm and land is always visible so motion sickness medicine is usually not needed, but feel free to bring some. The travel time from the dock to the fishing destination is short - typically 20 minutes so you will be fishing within minutes. On this type of fishing charter, depending on the time of year, we target Red Drum (aka Redfish or Spot Tail Bass), Sea Trout, Flounder, Bluefish, Spanish Mackerel, Sharks, Sheepshead, and more! We use spinning reels and a variety of live bait, such as shrimp and finger mullet. This is the most popular excursion available in 1/2 day, 3/4 day, and full day trips.
Capt.Chappy is a local fishermen with plenty of experience when it comes to exploring the coast of South Carolina. He's passionate about these waters and loves nothing more than passing on his knowledge to his guests. The ultimate goal on each trip is to teach you the ways of these waters, and how to fish them – and to leave you with plenty to smile about!
You'll be fishing from your captain's 23' Sea Pro bay boat or 24' Blazer Bay boat. These are the perfect vessels for cruising our shallow fishing grounds, with room for up to 5 guests onboard. The Captains loves welcoming children on their adventures, so feel free to turn this into an unforgettable family adventure. Just make sure that any little ones are ages 5 or above. Your captain will provide you with life vests, and the boat is decked out with top-notch safety and navigational gear, too.

I asked him to concentrate on my 15yr okd son to make sure he had a great time and he was happy to do that. All day long he helped make sure this was a memorable experience. His knowledge of the Charleston Harbor and surrounding areas are 2nd to none. we were on fish all day. Thank you Capt Chappy! We will definitely be back!!!

3/4 Day Trip (6 Hours) on June 12, 2025 • 4 adultsFirst day, the weather beat us up a little bit and that hurt the fishing. But the second day was fantastic. A little exhausting at times with pretty much nonstop action at each spot we went to for the six hour trip. When I get back to Charleston I’ll be using Captain Chappy again. Thank you for a great time And some good memories for a group of friends that you had to put up with for two straight days!

I grew up in the coastal waters of SC. I started out fishing, like many anglers do, with a passion for figuring out how to become a better angler. I also spent many years fishing on the professional Redfish tournament trails. Our goal is to leave you with a sense of accomplishment after a trip together. You can cancel or modify your booking up to 1 day before the trip date, free of charge. If you cancel or modify your booking later, or fail to show up, you'll forfeit 100% of what you've paid.
