It's safe to say that Captain Frank Taylor Jr knows his way around Steinhatchee's waters – he's been fishing here 1999, and has plenty of experience under his belt! He decided to turn his personal passion for angling into a profession at the beginning of 2018, when he got his captain's license and started running charters. His reason for doing this is simple: he just loves sharing experiences and passing on his knowledge of these waters to anglers of all ages and skill levels.     Great time!

    Full Day Fishing Trip • 3 adults • 1 child

    We took our 11-year-old son out for a fishing trip to celebrate him moving up to middle school, and it was such a great experience. We didn’t catch many keepers, but we caught several fish throughout the trip and had plenty of action reeling them in. Captain Frank was fantastic! He was attentive the whole time, kept moving us to different spots he knew would be productive, and always made sure our lines were baited and ready to go. He was especially great with our son, which made the trip even more memorable for us. We all had a really fun time and would absolutely book with Captain Frank again!

    that is too kind. It was a tough day fishing. I enjoyed enjoyed being with y’all today and I find it very awesome when a young kid wants to learn how to fish

    Captain Frank was amazing!

    Half Day Scalloping Trip (PM) • 5 adults

    We had a group of 5 for a 4 hour trip and it was absolutely wonderful! We caught our limit and capt Frank was very informative and super friendly. We had a blast and cant wait to come back!

    Full Day Fishing Trip • 4 adults

    GREAT FISHING AND SCALLOPING GUIDE. WE CAUGHT DIFFERENT TYPES OF FISH AND HAD A FUN TIME SCALLOPING AFTER. SEA BASS AND SCALLOPS ARE ON OUR DINNER MENU TONIGHT.

    We had such a great time with Captain Frank in Steinhatchee! He kept us on fish all day and made the trip fun from start to finish. Super easygoing, knowledgeable, and clearly knows exactly where to go. The boat was clean and everything ran smoothly. We’ll definitely be booking with him again!

    Hard days/great times

    Full Day Fishing Trip • 2 adults

    Having chartered at least 30 times I have a pretty good grip on a TRUE charter Captain. Negative tide, north wind 10-15, and spitting rain. And Captain Frank Taylor still put us on and kept us on fish all day. Book a trip and rest assured that it will be money well spent.

    Capt. Frank was responsive to my questions before our fishing day. He even suggested a different day due to weather conditions. He was on time, friendly, great conversation and we caught fish! I will definitely plan to go out with him again.

October, November, and early December are some of the best fishing times in Steinhatchee of the year ; the flats are full of redfish and trout. The cobia are migrating through, but they will soon be leaving in early November.

The trout bite in February was great and will only get better in the upcoming months! The big trout move in close to spawn and the redfish will be out on the flats. March, April and May are excellent months for planning your springtime fishing trip !
