Steinhatchee is famous for its prolific inshore waters, so why not come explore them alongside a captain who's been fishing them for over 2 decades? Captain Frank Taylor Jr, an experienced angler and the man behind Rocky Creek Charters, runs a variety of exciting fishing and Scalloping trips in this area.

Whether you're looking to hook a huge Bull Red, or want to introduce your little ones to the water, Capt. Frank has the perfect adventure for you. Grab up to 3 of your friends and head out for a full day on these shallow waters, hooking mighty Redfish and tasty Speckled Trout. In the summertime, why not treat the family to a whole morning of exploring this fishery for fast-moving Scallops?

Capt. Frank has the years of experience needed to put you on fish, or to guide you to the best Scalloping spots in the area. Usually, it'll take you about 10–20 minutes to get on fish, so you'll have plenty of time to cast your line!

Your captain will take you out on board his 24' Carolina Skiff, which is perfect for cruising seriously shallow waters. She's decked out with top-quality navigational gear and life jackets for all ages, so you'll have a secure and comfy journey to the hotspots. If you're fishing, she can accommodate 4 guests. For Scallopers, 6 can come aboard, so bring the whole family!

As well as being an incredible Redfish and Speckled Trout fishery, Steinhatchee is also home to Cobia, Flounder, and Spanish Mackerel. If you'd like to hook these species, or target one in particular, just let your captain know, as his trips are flexible. Once you've reeled in your catch, he'll help you arrange to have it cooked at a local restaurant. This is an additional cost.

Your captain will provide top-quality rods, reels, and tackle for you, as well as lures, live bait, and a valid fishing license for all guests. All you need to do is grab your favorite snacks and drinks, and a cooler for your catch. Join Rocky Creek Charters and cast off on an awesome inshore adventure!

Great time!
Full Day Fishing Trip on May 24, 20262 adults1 child

We took our 11-year-old son out for a fishing trip to celebrate him moving up to middle school, and it was such a great experience. We didn’t catch many keepers, but we caught several fish throughout the trip and had plenty of action reeling them in. Captain Frank was fantastic! He was attentive the whole time, kept moving us to different spots he knew would be productive, and always made sure our lines were baited and ready to go. He was especially great with our son, which made the trip even more memorable for us. We all had a really fun time and would absolutely book with Captain Frank again!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ What a great day!
Half Day Scalloping Trip (AM) on August 30, 20255 adults

Our day with Rocky Creek Charters was nothing short of incredible. Captain Frank knew exactly where to take us for scalloping, and we came back with plenty! What really stood out was how patient and knowledgeable he was—he explained everything about the scallops, the seagrass beds, and even gave us local insights into Steinhatchee. It wasn’t just a charter, it was a true learning experience wrapped up in a fun adventure. Perfect for families, first-timers, or anyone looking for an authentic taste of the Gulf Coast.

We had such a great time with Captain Frank in Steinhatchee! He kept us on fish all day and made the trip fun from start to finish. Super easygoing, knowledgeable, and clearly knows exactly where to go. The boat was clean and everything ran smoothly. We’ll definitely be booking with him again!

It's safe to say that Captain Frank Taylor Jr knows his way around Steinhatchee's waters – he's been fishing here 1999, and has plenty of experience under his belt! He decided to turn his personal passion for angling into a profession at the beginning of 2018, when he got his captain's license and started running charters. His reason for doing this is simple: he just loves sharing experiences and passing on his knowledge of these waters to anglers of all ages and skill levels. Come aboard Rocky Creek Charters and let him show you what these fishing grounds have to offer!
