Jason, I’m sorry that you feel like you didn’t get the value that you expected. I would like to address each item separately. Even though our first mate had a medical emergency in the morning the replacement Mate was there within five minutes of our scheduled departure time. Regarding having to go back to the dock because of a mechanical issue, we are dealing with very sophisticated equipment and we don’t always foresee or know what problems might occur. Safety is our number one concern so we will not continue any fishing charter if we are not comfortable with the performance of the boat. This is for your safety and unfortunately we cannot plan sometimes ahead but we were able to keep the charter with a slight delay. Our Captain / First Mate team are the same team that we are getting five star reviews continually so I doubt that they did anything different on your trip day than they normally do to get a five star review. Sometimes customers don’t understand what is being done to get the best experience possible. I apologize if you were not better informed. We will work harder to better inform our customers. We are continually upgrading our equipment and lures. We must also remember that this is a fishing trip and not a catching trip and sometimes Mother Nature does not want to cooperate. We would like to make your experience a positive one so we would be willing to offer you a 50% discount on your next charter with us. We believe in our program and want to make you a happy five-star customer in the future.

Sometimes it can be confusing when a customer gives us a 3 1/2 star rating because they like the experience but they didn’t catch as many fish as they wish they could have or they didn’t catch the trophy fish that they wanted and so they say they do not recommend us. We must remember that we’re on a fishing expedition, not a catching expedition. We work with mother nature every day in many ways and sometimes she chooses not to cooperate in the same manner as we would all enjoy.

Please read the rest of the story. The reason why the bathrooms smelled like they did was because three of the five people on board were throwing up all over the bathrooms! The trash cans were full of toilet paper after they tried to clean up the mess that they created! Nothing more foul then the smell of gastric juices all over. I hate to be so graphic but since they wrote such a review I need to explain and respond to their comments. The AC was working but the only problem is when you are sick and throwing up you tend to be overheated and prefer it even at cooler temperatures. The customers also were never advised that they had to stay in a cabin. This is a fishing trip and they were welcome to be anywhere on the boat that they preferred as long as it was safe. In fact, only one of the five people on the charter were able to fish while the other ones were either throwing up or helping the ones that were throwing up, cleanup! We have full seating up at the helm for everybody on the boat and a fighting chair in the cockpit for at least one. As far as interaction goes, there was one of the passengers fishing with the First Mate and the rest were once again in the cabin dealing with seasickness. The captain and his friend were on the helm but the customers were in the cabin so not able to interact even if they wanted to. I’m not sure why the customer even mentioned interaction. Also the first mate was there and helped them get on the boat with all their gear and assisted them on the boat immediately as they got there. We work very hard to create a fun and enjoyable atmosphere since we are in the entertainment business. We continue to be rated with four and five stars because our customers love what we provide to them. Unfortunately sometimes it is hard to please customers that feel they want something for nothing.
