I've been working at sea since I was 16 years old. First as Merchant Seaman for 13 years and last 36 years in Oil Industry in the North Sea. My education is Chief Engineer and still holder of M1 certificate. I'm also educated as a Coastal Captain and holder of D5 coastal captain certificate. In the oil industry, I've been Offshore Installation Manager for the last 20 years. My passion has always been old wooden boats, and purchasing RS56 Olav Ringdal Jr was nothing but a must to me. It's my 3rd wooden veteran boat. I feel very qualified to bring passengers out for a trip and to make the trip as safe as possible and as joyful as possible too of course.

    Beautiful Scenery, Great Fishing & Excellent Crew

    4 Hour Trip

    We had a fantastic fishing trip aboard Olav Ringdal Jr. and would highly recommend the experience. Captain Kjell and crew member Kim were incredibly welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable, not only about fishing, but also about the history of the local area and Norway more broadly, which made the trip even more interesting. The boat itself was in immaculate condition and beautifully maintained, especially impressive given its history dating back to 1952. There was plenty of space to fish comfortably, as well as areas to relax, enjoy the coffee and snacks provided, and simply take in the beautiful scenery. The whole trip felt very professional and perfectly timed. We stopped to fish in several different locations, which meant we could experience a variety of landscapes along the way. We were also lucky enough to spot some wildlife, including dolphins and a seal! A memorable, well-organised and thoroughly enjoyable experience from start to finish.

    Highlight of Our Norway Cruise – Amazing Family Fishing Trip!

    4 Hour Trip

    We had an absolutely amazing time with Kjell and Kim on our North Fjord Sea & Safari fishing trip! We were a group of 11—six adults and five children ranging in age from 5 to 12—and this experience ended up being one of the highlights of our entire Norway vacation. The fishing was fantastic! We caught more than 30 fish, and at times we had two or even three fish on at once. The kids had an absolute blast and were excited from beginning to end. Kjell and Kim were wonderful with them—patient, friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure everyone had a chance to participate and enjoy the experience. We did this on the final port day of our Disney Cruise through Norway, and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to finish our trip. After everything we did and saw during the cruise, all five kids said the fishing trip was their favorite experience! If you’re visiting the Nordfjord/Olden area and looking for a fishing charter—especially if you’re traveling with children—I can’t recommend Kjell, Kim, and North Fjord Sea & Safari highly enough. Thank you for an unforgettable day and memories that our family will be talking about for years to come. Absolutely a 5-star experience!

    Wedding Cruise in the Lysefjord

    8 Hour Trip

    We had our wedding aboard Olav Ringdal Jr and couldn't be happier with how it went! Kjell-M. was very helpful in planning and executing our dream wedding. He is an experienced captain and went above and beyond to give us a good experience. We hope to go for another cruise or fishing trip in the future. Would recommend to others for their celebrations or just for getting out on the water and experiencing the beautiful Norwegian nature!
