We took out a Heavy Hitter Charter from Captain Benny for my dads 70th birthday and couldn’t have asked for a better day. We caught a couple of 12 pound plus black drum and countless amount of smaller fish. Captain Benny was amazing and walked us through everything that we needed to do and know to fish those waters. We took out a 2 hour charter and would have loved to stay for even longer. I cant recommended Captain Benny enough.

We had an amazing day on the water with Captain Benny! Our group of three—including our 13-year-old son—had an absolute blast. Captain Benny was friendly, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable. He not only helped us catch a ton of fish (some really big ones that gave us a great fight!) but also pointed out interesting local landmarks and shared cool facts about the area along the way.

We’ve done other charters before, but Captain Benny really stood out by going the extra mile. He took tons of great photos throughout the trip, so we could focus on fishing and having fun. Even better, we had all the pictures before we even got back to the dock!

He also put a special emphasis on our safety and comfort the entire time, which made the whole experience feel effortless and enjoyable.

We booked a 3-hour morning charter with Captain Benny of Heavy Hitters out of Amelia Island, and it was one of the best fishing trips we’ve ever had! From start to finish, it was action-packed, exciting, and downright fun.

Everyone in our group caught fish—lots of them! We reeled in bonnethead sharks, Atlantic sharpnose sharks, and even landed a massive 100-pound dusky shark that gave us a real battle. That alone made the trip unforgettable! On top of the shark action, we also caught plenty of whiting, sail catfish, yellowmouth trout, and more. There was never a dull moment—lines were tight almost the entire time!

Captain Benny was outstanding—knowledgeable, upbeat, and incredibly passionate about what he does. He knew exactly where to go, kept us safe, and made sure everyone had a great time, whether it was their first fishing trip or their fiftieth. You can tell he genuinely loves putting people on fish.

If you’re anywhere near Amelia Island and looking for a fishing trip you’ll be talking about for years, Heavy Hitters with Captain Benny is the way to go. Can’t wait to come back and do it again!

Captain Benny provided me and three teens with a memorable experience.  None of us had any experience and Benny was helpful and patient. Kids caught a variety of fish including bonnet head shark, sea bass, whiting, toad fish, black drum, and a cow nose ray.  The trip culminated with the teens working together for 10 minutes to land a 100+ pound dusky shark which got away just as they were bringing it in. Great experience!

We had a great time with Captain Bennie. He was great with the young kids teaching them how to fish, reel in and hold the rod. The weather was perfect and all the kids caught some fish - the first two were caught by the youngest, the 4 year old. Once we got back to the car all the kids were asking when can we do it again. Captain Bennie was great and would recommend to anyone.
