I've loved fishing ever since I was old enough to hold a rod. I started doing it as a career at the Ocean Isle Fishing Center at age 19, working my way up from mate to Captain quickly. I captained for 4 years out of Ocean Isle and worked on boats down in the Keys for a year. I then mated on Whipsaw Charters out of Wrightsville Beach for 2 years in the summer and would work again for the Ocean Isle Fishing Center in the winters, during Bluefin Tuna season. Fishing is my passion, I go to work every day looking forward to being able to do what I love and meet new people. To me, there is no better feeling than a day out on the water!

    12 Hour Bottom Trip • 4 adults

    Our target species was Grouper! Captain Ben and his First mate Brody were very informative and helpful. I've fished all my life and caught some really big fish yet this is really a whole new level. My boys and I just had a blast and it took a while to sink in but we learned technique from both of them.We caught some really good size grouper, sea bass and other species of keepers. We also caught many fish we weren't allowed to keep due to regulations. I caught a couple giant red snapper. due to what I feel is flawed Federal Regulation, I was not allowed to keep them. they put up a good fight and were fun to catch. All in all this was an amazing fishing trip of learning, catching and having a blast. totally recommend the 12-hour trip

    4 Hour Trip (PM) • 4 adults

    We had an outstanding half day of fishing with Captain Ben, easily a 5-star trip from start to finish. He was great with my three teenage kids who don’t have a ton of fishing experience. He took the time to show them the ropes, explain things when needed and laughed along with us the whole trip. There was no time wasted on the dock. As soon as he was back in, we hopped aboard and took off. Started the day trolling, but no luck. Captain Ben quickly changed things up and had us on some great bottom fishing, which really got the kids excited and into the action. Later we went back to trolling and pulled in quite a few bonitas before the day ended. Back on the dock he cleaned/fileted/bagged our catch for us. You can tell Captain Ben really enjoys his job. I highly recommend and the best compliment I can give is; on the 30 minute drive to the dock, the kids were mostly playing Clash Royale on their phones. On the 30 minute drive home, they were trying to plan the next fishing trip. btw….extremely nice boat. I was a little jealous.

    6 Hour Trip • 4 adults

    Second time going out on this Charter. Always a fun time. Boat is really comfortable. We had 4 people and had plenty of room. We caught some King Mackeral, Bonito and Sea Bass. I would highly recommend booking a trip.

    Great day on the water

    4 Hour Trip (AM) • 2 adults

    Capt Ben was a great fella and my son and I enjoyed the time on the boat with him. He worked hard to get us on some fish. Getting them in the boat was our challenge. It was a lot of fun watching the barracuda attack those Spanish. If only we could have landed more than we did but thats fishing. Thanks for the memories Capt Ben. We will be back

    8 hour Trip • 4 adults • 2 children

    Captain Ben was great and knew exactly where to take us to carch a variety of different fish. We had so much fun! The boat was great and fit our group perfectly! I highly recommend this fish charter. This trip is best for all groups- beginners yo advance. Dont forget your sunscreen and snacks!!

Bottom Fishing is still on fire!

While the trolling has been very slow for this time of year, the bottom fishing is more than making up for it. On our full day trips our clients are getting limits of Gag grouper, Scamp grouper and Red grouper along with triggerfish, vermillion snapper and many more. On our six and eight our trips we are catching some really nice gag grouper and a few king mackerel. Hopefully the bottom fishing keeps up and the trolling improves!

Grouper bite has been on fire!

The gag grouper fishing has been on fire! our clients have loved battling these hard fighting fish using live bait, these tasty fish can be reached on trips as short as our six hour until the season closes on the 26th of June. Grouper Season 2025!

Grouper season is finally upon us! although we have a shortened gag grouper season from May 1 to June 26th, the rest of the grouper species (scamp, red, etc) are still open all year. The gag grouper is one you can catch on a six or eight hour charter instead of having to book a longer more expensive charter to reach the scamp and red grouper grounds. The limit is 2 gags per boat but our six hours have also been producing some king mackerel, big seabass and a few cobia. Book your trip today!

Gulfstream Tuna

Our gulfstream trips are starting to produce good numbers of blackfin tuna as well as some nice fat triggerfish. The tuna action was fast and furious this morning and these guys were done by 9 o'clock!

Doesnt get much better than that! we were lucky to catch a jump on camera from about a 300 pound sword we caught for the first one on the new yellowfin. A good sign of things to come!

Winter time research

last week I took a good friend out during a rare weather window in February. Wanted to test out the new trolling motor as well as do some catch and release research on some of my grouper spots. Caught multiple gags over 30 pounds as well as some scamps, May 1st cant get here soon enough!
