Have a fun and memorable experience with a great crew aboard Southern Run Fishing Charters! You won't know where to head first when it comes to fishing in Willmington, but Captain Ben Morris specializes in epic offshore adventures. He'll do his best to put anglers of all skill levels on the big fish!

Your vessel for the day is a 32' Yellowfin center console that can fit up to 6, but for comfort reasons the ideal is 4 customers. She's a dry, fast and very comfortable boat with great seating and plenty of room to relax during a long day of fishing. Equipped with 2 300 HP Yamaha engines, this smooth ride will get you to the fish fast, increasing your fishing time and productivity.

Light line trolling is a recipe for success when it comes to hooking nearshore species like Bluefish, Spanish Mackerel, and Bonita. On longer offshore trips you'll also have your shot at Wahoo, Blackfin Tuna, Sailfish, Mahi Mahi and the occasional Blue or White Marlin. In this range, bottom fishing for Grouper, Snapper, and delicious Seabass is super productive too! No bottom fishing for groups larger than 4.

All of your gear, including top-notch rods, reels, and tackle are waiting on board when you arrive. Capt. Ben is also happy to clean and fillet your catch at the end of the trip for easy transport home. What you will want to bring are any drinks and snacks you'd like to enjoy, as well as sun protection.

We had an outstanding half day of fishing with Captain Ben, easily a 5-star trip from start to finish. He was great with my three teenage kids who don’t have a ton of fishing experience. He took the time to show them the ropes, explain things when needed and laughed along with us the whole trip. There was no time wasted on the dock. As soon as he was back in, we hopped aboard and took off. Started the day trolling, but no luck. Captain Ben quickly changed things up and had us on some great bottom fishing, which really got the kids excited and into the action. Later we went back to trolling and pulled in quite a few bonitas before the day ended. Back on the dock he cleaned/fileted/bagged our catch for us. You can tell Captain Ben really enjoys his job. I highly recommend and the best compliment I can give is; on the 30 minute drive to the dock, the kids were mostly playing Clash Royale on their phones. On the 30 minute drive home, they were trying to plan the next fishing trip. btw….extremely nice boat. I was a little jealous.

Where to start, the boat is excellent big and very stable. We had no issue cruising at 30 knots to the near shore fishing spot 5 miles from shore. Fishing trip went well with a very lucky near shore Mahi Mahi which I’m told was quite rare. Hooked up to several Spanish Mackerel and one spinner shark that got away at the surface. The marina was easy to locate and free parking plus lots of good restaurants nearby for after. All in all best bang for the buck fishing I’ve done ever with excellent pictures and a few meals worth of mahi mahi to show for it. There’s a reason all his reviews are 5 stars and this is one more

What a trip with Captain Ben!

Me and my three fishing buddy’s enjoyed a fabulous trip yesterday with Capt Ben. Boat was fully loaded and on time to head out of WBNC to deep blue sea. Within 30minutes we had Gag Groupers on the boat!! He knew his spots and tough us new catching techniques that delivered! He knew when to move and was open to all our questions.. We caught over 2 dozen fish! Limited out on Grouper and caught over 6 different species of fish. Red Snapper, King Mackerel, Bonita, Sea Bass and more… The 32ft Yellow Fin with twin 350hp Yamaha’s ran so well and was perfect for our crew! Highly recommend Capt Ben if your looking to catch fish and have a great time fishing WBNC!!
