Great time and weather fish didn’t cooperate very well but had a great time thanks

We enjoyed our trip. Captain was very knowledgeable and helpful.

We booked a four hour charter for two dads and (3) 10-year-old boys, who were so excited to spend a day on the water catching fish.

We booked an in-shore trip with hopes of catching Spanish mackerel, spotted trout and red fish.

When we arrived to the boat, the captain (Wes) was not there, but his son greeted us warmly and let us know that he would be our guide for the day. We left the dock on time and took a short cruise into the waters of Destin.

Upon arriving to our first spot, we got five lines in the water, but after about 20 minutes, nobody had a bite or caught a fish. The guide decided that we should try another spot, so we took another short drive hoping for better luck. Unfortunately, it was the same story with no bites and no fish caught at the next spot.

We moved again to another spot, this time we could see some Spanish mackerel in the flats, however, we were still not able to catch any fish by trolling or by casting lines into the water.

After no luck, the guide took us to another location where we attempted live bait (shrimp) with no luck. We bounced around to several locations in our last hour unable to catch any fish. We definitely spent more time driving from spot to spot than we did actively fishing, which was a bit of a surprise.

On a positive note, the guide was a very nice young man, however, we couldn’t help but wonder how much experience he had for a trip like this. Perhaps it was just a bad day, which I do understand can happen, but it was tough to spend over $800 on a fishing trip and not catch a single fish.

We did see a few dolphins and a sea turtle, which the kids enjoyed seeing. That being said, at the end of the trip, I was hoping that the guide might offer even a small discount, but that was not the case.

Overall, we enjoyed being able to be out on the water, but it was very disappointing not to be able to catch any fish for the price that we paid. We understand that this is part of the risk with fishing, but we had hoped for more with the kids.

Young Captain Keller is a nice young man and engages with all passengers. Never had to bait a hook.

Fishing was disappointing and not impressed with fishing locations chosen. Congested inlet area or private docks. We were able to keep 4 small white trout. Not worth it for $800!
