- I have been fishing Lake Erie's Sandusky Bay for over 40 years and this will be my 3rd year running charters. Last year my charter was featured in Country Living Magazine (5/2016), Ohio Outdoor News (6/3/2016) and in Great Lakes Angler magazine (June-July 2016).
- Techniques
- I love to fish for anything and everything but on my charters I only target Catfish. We have an incredible population of channel cats in the bay and they offer my clients a wonderful experience. That doesn't mean you wont catch anything else. We sometimes catch freshwater drum, white and yellow perch, white bass and even walleye. The bay has a number of bridges that offer shelter from the wend and waves. We sometime have to cross rough water but I can always find a calm place to fish. We anchor up and fish on the bottom. Hold on to your pole or place it in one of the many rod holders. These fish are strong and can drag your pole out of the boat in an instant. InFisherman ranked the Sandusky Bay as one of the top ten catfish destinations in the country. Without the larger blue and flathead catfish, it takes incredible numbers to achieve this ranking. The kind of numbers that will ensure that you have a great time.
