1/2 Day 5 Hour Trip – Inshore • 3 adultsWhat a day fishing with Captain Andrew. This was my best experience fishing on the ocean, EVER! I took two of my good friends fishing and we spent the entire day SLAYING the fish. I asked him to help us catch grunts and Sheepshead and he delivered. I didn’t keep track of how many fish we caught, but we had a basket full of keepers by the end of the day (see the pics). Plus, we caught lots of Gag Grouper. Those aren’t in season, so we had to throw them back, but boy were they fun to catch. The communication was great. The boat was nice and clean. Captain Andrew was friendly, polite, a great conversationalist, and PUT US ON THE FISH. What else could you ask for? It’s now the next day that I am writing this review and my arms and back are sore from catching so many fish. If I could give him 100 stars I would. He is the only Captain I will use going forward. I highly recommend him for your next fishing adventure.

6 Hour Trip – Offshore/Nearshore • 2 adultsHad a fantastic day fishing day with Capt. Andrew. We were on fish the whole day. I had to take a short snack break just to let my arms rest for a minute. If a spot slowed down Capt. Andrew moved us to another spot and we were quickly back at it. I live locally, and will be back to fish with more family and friends, and I'll definetly be doing that with Capt. Andrew!

6 Hour Trip – Offshore/Nearshore • 3 adultsWe asked for a cooler full of fish to take home to eat and Captain Andrew delivered big time! He was on time and had everything we could need in the boat and ready, even a warm jacket for a junior angler who thought it wouldn’t be cold. He is extremely knowledgeable about this area and the available species and got us to the perfect spot. He kept us safe during rough seas and when we got back to the marina he cleaned the fish for us with a chefs precision. I highly reccomend this Captain.

With the warm temps the fishing has blown up and really come alive. This trend will only get hotter in the month of March. Inshore the Specked Trout are plentyful on the flats and creek pockets casting both MirroLure Lil Jon soft plastics and Mirrodines. Redfish can be found in the creeks on out to the outer islands with the islands being our main focus with the warming temps. Snook are working their way on out and are finally in season again. Nearshore is absolutely on fire. Sheepshead are in full blown spawn mode and we are finding the large schools of studs along with the larger Mangrove Snapper. You will end up battling the powerful Gag Grouper just about everywhere as a bycatch, but a fun one for sure! I have dates left in March and looking forward to fishing with you and filling that cooler soon!

May 8, 2021 Lake Lanier Fishing Report

The striper fishing has been heating up since my last report and I’m looking forward to a bountiful month of May. Over the past 2 weeks, I snuck down to Homosassa, FL to catch the last week of snook season, chase some cobia, and pluck a few reds n’ trout! Now that it’s out of my system, it’s time to get back on the pond. As of today, due to the recent rain dumps, the lake level is at 1071.93’ MSL, .93’ above full pool. The surface temp is pushing 70 degrees and should see the lower 70’s within a week or two.
Just like my previous report, the stripers are catchable lake wide. I have still been targeting them in the upper and mid reaches of both rivers. Last month the dominant pattern was the freeline and planer board bite. We are now seeing a bit of herring on downlines, 20-30’ coming into play. I’m starting the mornings with a combo spread of weighted freelines, planers, and downlines. Make your adjustments to the producing pattern and depth that you’re marking fish. As ALWAYS during this time of year while you’re pulling the spread, have an angler or two on the bow throwing artificials at the rocks, points, saddles, and banks. The stripers are relating to the same areas as the spotted bass. This is a great way to stay busy with plenty of action. My favorite producers have been a nose hooked white or bone colored fluke, Sabile Magic Swimmers, and Hogy Paddle Swimbaits.
Recently, I also spent some time taking a class offered by The University of Florida (UF/IFAS), Sea Grant Florida, and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission called “Florida Friendly Fishing Guides”. Even though I primarily guide in Georgia, this program recognizes fishing guides who are committed to preserving the future of fisheries through sustainable boating and fishing techniques. "Florida Friendly Fishing Guides," provide a richer fishing experience for their clients through their angling expertise and environmental stewardship. To assist keeping our clients healthy and happy, and to preserve sustainable fishing habits for future generations, we anglers must ensure that we follow the best practices when out on the water. This course offers an in-depth background in fishery management, marine ecology, ethics, catch and release techniques, understanding of waterways, sustainable waste management and fueling, seafood safety, onboard materials, and simply giving back. I believe our conservation efforts as anglers are one of the most important values and practices where we can all do better. We should educate our fellow anglers and clients as part of the daily fishing experience we offer. There is more to it than just putting fish in the box. April 1, 2021 Lake Lanier Fishing Report

It’s officially Spring and right on time the rain, cold fronts, and pollen have thrown an April Fools Day curveball. However, going forward the forecast looks awesome with warmer days and great fishing weather. Get ready, with the warm days ahead of us in the next few weeks the fishing will be on fire! As of today the lake is at 1071.82’, 0.82’ above full pool. Lake surface temps in areas were pushing the upper 50’s.
The past few weeks I was off the pond and down in Florida checking out a new sled for the up coming season. It was a very exciting and stressful event but we pulled the trigger on a brand new Blazer Bay 2420 fully outfitted! I was able to run it over 30 miles out in the gulf and do a little reef fishing and in 12” of skinny water in the back country before hauling back to Georgia. I got back on the pond this week to dial everything in and we picked up right where we left off with some great catches.
The stripers are spread out lake wide. After the heavy rains hit us it pushed a lot of debris and muddy water in the creek backs and northern stretches of both rivers. On the south end look for the diving birds, feeding loons, and creek backs. I think the northern stretches of the lake are still better for numbers. The spawning run has begun! We are running a spread of herring and shad on downlines, unweighted and weighted freelines, and planners. Run the freelines 80-120’ back and the bait 25-45’ behind the boards. I like to put a couple anglers on the bow throwing either a swim bait, bucktail, or a magic swimmer at the bank. You will pick up a lot of bonus fish so get ready to hold on.
I have a few dates open in April and we are already booking into May. I hope you get to take advantage of the great fishing weather that is right around the corner and come aboard and check out the new rig! Tight lines.
