My son and I scheduled an offshore trip for Wednesday 9.27.23, but it was moved to Monday 9.25.23 because of a bad weather forecast.  Captain JT contacted me Saturday 9.23.23, so that communication gave us time to change our plans quickly.

We were targeting black-fin tuna, but unfortunately, the bite wasn’t on (tropical storm Ophelia had just come through).  We trolled for a few hours without a bite, so JT and 1st mate Josh switched things up and we ended up on a few schools of mahi-mahi.  Wow!  My son and I had so much fun with the organized chaos that came with hooking and landing the fish and keeping the school interested at the same time, so we could catch more.

The boat was great and JT and Josh were even better!  They helped us end the day with memories of a lifetime.  On the way back to the marina, we did some quick wreck fishing and hooked up to a few amberjack.

I would highly recommend JT.  VERY knowledgeable, friendly, and makes every effort to get on fish for his customers.  One final note….this day was a rough day (for catching) for most of the fleet.  JT’s diligence and Josh’s efforts made the difference for me and my son and it was very much appreciated!

Captain JT and Mate Eli did all they could for us. The weather and water were great. We started fishing for wahoo at first, caught one, but there wasn’t much bite for any of the charters out there that morning. We shifted gears and found a mahi and followed that up with a good hour of drop fishing where we caught trigger fish, glassy eyed snapper, vermillion snapper, sand tile, sea bass, Atlantic sharp nose shark, and even a puffer. We had 6-7 lines out almost all the time for just the two of us. Great time on the water and a great variety of fish in the cooler!

Captain JT and his mate gave us a great fishing experience! We worked with him on targeting the fish that were biting and we brought home a pile of Black Fin Tuna. We were hoping to catch some Mahi even though the previous days were empty across the dock. The mate did a great job spotting some under a grass patch while moving locations and were grabbed a couple in no time. Finished up with a few Jack’s on a wreck, rounding out a great day.
