January is a great time to fish the reefs, with monster Grouper and Snapper waiting below the waters. Hit the flats, and you could spend hour after hour battling super-sized Snook.

The Isla Mujeres Island Time Fishing Tournament offers epic hookups and fierce competition in February. Target Sailfish, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Tuna, and King Mackerel in this awesome offshore event.

If you're up for a road trip, the spring equinox at Chichen Itza is an unmissable event which has been celebrated for centuries. If not, you've got Sailfish, Wahoo, Bonefish, Snook, and plenty more right here!

Semana Santa is Mexico's most important holiday. The schools are out and all the locals are in the mood to celebrate. April also marks the anniversary of Cancun's discovery, so it's a very happy time in town.

The summer season is well on its way by May. Bonefish, Tarpon, Permit, and Snook are swarming the shallows. Offshore, you have Blue and White Marlin, Sailfish, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, and Tuna. Fish on!

The Billfish bite hits its peak in June, with huge monster Blue Marlin, White Marlin, and Sailfish. The flats are incredible, too, with every major inshore game fish swarming in along the beaches.

The Isla Mujeres Whale Shark Festival has fun for all the family as it honors these incredible creatures. This is also a great month to go snorkeling with whale sharks around the island!

August is when most Mexicans take their vacatian, so beaches and resorts may be busier than you expect. Escape the crowds, and you'll find some amazing fishing on the flats, though.

Mexicans love Independence Day just as much as Americans, it seems. September 15th is marked with music, dancing, and chants of 'Viva Mexico!' all across the country.

The Isla Mujeres International Music Festival brings the island to life for a 12-day extravaganza of music and dancing, with top artists from around the world. It's one heck of a party!

Dia de los Muertos is probably Mexico's most famous festival. Expect elaborate costumes and impressive parades as locals celebrate their ancestors and mourn their loved ones.

If you're thinking of spending December on Isla Mujeres then we're very jealous. With warm seas, beautiful beaches, and all-night parties, this is the ultimate way to enjoy the holiday season!
